The ability to trade (equal) cards between players?

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I would really love to be able to use a system that would let me trade loadout cards with other Dirty Bomb players.

My friend loves Rhino and I love Vassili, and we both opened up Containment War special edition cards of each other’s favourite mercs (I got the R93 and he got the M022). I hate the fact that, since I don’t even have Rhino let alone actually enjoy to play him, I will never use this amazing card (which is considered to be the best Rhino card) and it will just gather dust. I’m sure I’m not the same person in this position.

This would only really work well if the cards that could be traded were of equal rarity - so you could only get a Cobalt by trading a Cobalt, or only get a Containment War card from trading a Containment war etc.etc.

  • Otherwise you’d end up with people making new accounts, making use of that incredibly fast credit gain you get when you are low levelled and spend it all on equipment cases, get lucky and get a Cobalt and then trade it over to your main account for a Lead card. This would also create issues with pro players joining the Max Level 5 servers and ruining the less intense environment for the truly new players.

I don’t think there would be any fundamental issues that would be created by implementing a fair trading system into the game, as long as there is still no way for people to add any in-game or real-world money to the trade. That said, feel free to point out anything that you would see as an issue for such a system, as I probably haven’t thought of everything.

This, or a cs go type of a real money system

This is actually confirmed to come, but development on it is slow and maybe not even being worked on so for the moment we have to wait.
Feel free to leave suggestion here  http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/19737/the-trading-system#latest

No… That will just encourage people to constantly create new accounts and take advantage of the extra credit boosts that you get when you start and they will just grind Cobalts to make money, effectively devaluing all of the previously rare cards.

The whole point of my suggestion was that you could trade Golds for Golds, Cobalts for Cobalts etc., simply so that your unwanted cards could be used by someone else and you could get a card that has been too elusive for you, but you have still been getting cards that are good but are not personally interested in. Adding a payment/market system will completely ruin the entire loadout card system that has been put in place by Splash Damage. Trading equal cards will not have such a poor outcome, as it will still require someone to get a really good Cobalt if they are wanting to receive a really good one (I’m really wanting my friend’s Containment War MO22 Vassili, but he wouldn’t trade that to me if I was only offering a Containment War Blishlok Sawbonez).

Keep in mind the Steam community market requires that a given account has made a purchase on Steam at least 30 days prior but less than a year before making a transaction on the market (buy or sell), so creating new accounts to farm the early credit bonuses is not that simple as you would still have to spend something like $5 minimum on your account then wait a month to trade anything.

Trading one-for-one at the same rarity level would be very limiting since you would never be able to get rid of low-end cards.

Real money or cards vs. credits never gonna be there with the current system. But I would enjoy a same rarity vs. same rarity trade. And it wouldn’t hurt SD or NEXON in any financial way.

If you get a low end card, then that’s just bad luck - but what really sucks is when you get a card that you don’t personally want, but you know it’s just amazing and you want to give it to your friend.

And anyway, if you do get a low end card, you can just trade in (unless it’s a Spec Edition, of course).

I have a CW skin bushwacker and my friend has a CW skin proxy that has my preferred loadout. Would love to swap them. Please SD!
