Anyway SD can make the objective icons fade away when the player aims over it? That would be so awesome.
Would be a great improvement to a great game to come.

I’m refusing to vote because I believe this is probably, in some form, already an option (most likely as a controllable transparency setting).
No screenshot or video clip? Just assume whatever is bothering you is obviously wrong? What is this talking about?
A great improvement ? Fading an icon ?
People should stop turning each opinion they have as a must have or a no buy thing.
Well, sorry, that’s still a good idea, but I don’t see a real need for it.
@op: That would be nice. It was a problem in Quake Wars and, like Quake Wars (I have it bound and use it in ETQW), I assume it can be toggled on or off if you’re on PC. Fading would be ideal and not platform specific.
@Auzner: HUD Icons that represent objectives and tell the player in which direction to head. They are visible through walls and other obstructions such as people.
I agree, Jep. And all the fanboys should stop reading all criticism as such. Sometime’s that’s what the individual is saying. Sometimes that’s just what the fanboy is reading even the most constructive criticism as.
I think maybe the option to do so would be cool. However If they don’t incorporate an option to do that then I would rather have it fade.
I don’t see it is a problem, as long as it stays the same size (in pixels) no matter what your distance (ie doesn’t get larger as you get closer) and kind of stays outta the way ala Left 4 Dead which it seems to do from what I’ve seen. I mean, I haven’t consciously noticed it other than “oh it highlights the target for you, cool.” So that to me isn’t registering “danger”.
Turn them all off, what is this, Map Navigation 4 Dummies?? Was there an icon to show where the flag was in Q3 CTF? What happened to learning a map and getting to know where things are?!
Nah just kidding, yeah I like the fade option in ETQW, was quite annoying having that icon in your way during a firefight.
Those damn icons made me lose some duels today. as medic when there is alot of downed teammates u can see s**** trough them.
You don’t have to have them. They only show up if you tell them to. I don’t see what the issue is. If you don’t like it, stop using the objective wheel.
Also, I thought that the disagree option was a bit laughable.
“Disagree, why would you want to make a game better?”
Yes, because changing something for everybody that you don’t like, even though you don’t have to use it, is making the game better for everybody.
The only place where I’ve found this annoying was when playing solider once at the start objective of Container City as security, there was a dude that was hiding by the little hole you can slide under in the gate and the objective outline covered him 2-3 times, made me switch class to kill him and then do the objective. Was a bit annoying, can’t recall if I hade the objective selected or not, but otherwise I havn’t found any issues with the feature.
Often I have more than just a pesky objective icon blocking my vision of the battlefield.

All the HUD lacks are meters for CPU usage, RAM usage, HDD activity, System uptime, 3D Pipes screensaver, a “Use Netscape Navigator” button, some flaming-skull gifs and Bonzai Buddy toolbar.
Pretty much this. Too many icons can clutter the screen, obscuring vision of enemies.
Hey, thanks for leaving a mature answer for disagree. I don’t really mind it, but that doesn’t mean by simply having the objective icons disappear, will make a game better… MW2 had this issue, it doesn’t mean the game sucked more than Black Ops, infact many people think Black Ops severely sucks than most other games… but that’s a completely different story.
Yeah it’s very fishy, it’s like the game has no sole now… but I think we all need to clam down for cods sake.
