this is the last achievement i need to get 1000/1000 gamerscore. But whenever i mark a mine neither the bot engineers or the player engineers disarm them. and sometimes the mine will just get shot up by a bot :l

Try telling ppl they can disarm the mines.

Get someone on your team to disarm a mine that you find. Tell them that you are trying to get the achievement. When you play with more experienced engineers the mines get disarmed.

I only picked it up myself a couple of days ago, after more or less two weeks of solid online play, happened in a random pub that is now on my favourites. Luck of the draw I guess, I quite often see people shooting them up rather than disarming.

I have no idea how or when I got mine, but I’ve noticed people don’t do a lot of disarming. I guess it’s a combination of easily being able to avoid them now that they’re visible, and that they’re not much of a threat to a player with full health.

Something I just thought of, you might try spotting the mine, then stepping on it. Hopefully that will trigger a bot Engi to come disarm it for you, and possibly give you the achievement.

Hopefully they won’t decide to just shoot anyway, and blow you up in the process, lol.

I think many people just run over them, many times you just get knocked down, but other times you don’t get back up. I disarm them when I am a engineer, but I will switch classes many times in a match. Eventually down the road when guys are playing with each more often they will fall into set roles and that’s when more mines will get disarmed. I noticed that when someone invites you to play, you still have to launch the invite. I think that this is meant to allow you to choose what character to use for the invite?

I got mine pretty quickly whilst playing as Operative but I have a friend who is a dedicated engineer. It can be frustrating being an operative though sometimes. People step on mines as you spot them which is understanable but still step on them when you have spotted them which is annoying, anyone else experience this?

Sometimes I am guilty of thinking: I’ll just run past it and it won’t blow up or I will be fine. Its like a stubborn thing. But the penalty can be stiff in Brink. Like hitting a mine on CC above the crane where nobody will come rescue you. Or in a vent area. Mines are very dangerous and can cause you to lose if not spotted and removed. There is an Engineer ability that allows you to set 2 mines!
