That feeling when leads and irons are becoming "special edition"

(Press E) #1

I kinda wanna keep some of them just to troll new players, lol. “WOW, you have a 1/2 perk HAX card?”

It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out though. All of the crafting rarities are going to drop in value a lot, so I hope we get some sort of additional functionality for fragments. Maybe another rarity, or something to do with special edition cards?

Will the remaining still exist?
Aren’t hey converting them into crafting parts?

Also, will default cards will forever have perks from gen 2, or will they change every new card gen?

According to this post, leads and irons will stay in your inventory and you’ll still be able to recycle them whenever you want.
My guess would be that default cards will stay the same though. They don’t have much of a reason for changing considering people rarely use them, and probably still wouldn’t use them much even with more perks.

FFS just use the default card instead of iron/lead or just the bronze one xD

Even if i don’t find lead and iron skins pretty appealing, i think they should stay in the game. Lead is basically sand desert camo, iron is grey/rock desert camo, and bronze woodland camo. There’s really none more shinier than the other.

IRON/LEAD WEAPON SKINS CONFIRMED!

Finally something good news. I have always thought that iron/lead cards are underrated by their looks. Perhaps SD could transform them to bronze equivelant, but with different skin to add more diversity to entry level crafting. Just to take this more further, I have been always supporter of high rarity cards. Cobalt is not enough grinding for me.

Note to self: horde all lead and irons and once we have Steam market support, sell them for insane prices due to their rarity. o:)

I haven’t been recycling any lead and iron cards for a while now so I have a decent amount stockpiled, generation one included.

From the very first day I began playing in March 2015 iirc, I have only removed duplicates. I have never removed any unique loadout in any rarity, and now I have a decent encyclopedia of loadouts.

In fact, I remember being told @Exedore was complaining about asshole hoarders with hundreds of loadouts in their inventory making his life shit sometime in 2016, and I was like, “lol, yeah, that’s me.” Whouldathunk?

I know a guy with 3,020 unopened cases in his inventory. How long do you think it would take to open all of those? And more importantly, how many times will Dirty Bomb crash?

Good times?

Defaults will be getting 3 perks. Having 1 or 2 perks will be unique to only lead and bronze

This kinda feels like collecting those discontinued currencies from before economic crashes. They are literally worthless in the eyes of the mint, but now they are somehow more precious.

Whats the next step of your master plan?

“Crashing this market, WITH OVERWHELMING SUPPLY”

Hopefully there will Be a crafting week before this update goes live, ya know i don’t wanna recycle all my lead n irons after this news, but since I have a lot of duplicates I’d like to get those fragments :>

Since the default cards have fixed primary, secondary and melee, and skin, why not make it a craftable in terms of augment that can be changed for a cost (let’s say, 5k credits per augment)?

Iron Thunder is glorious. Never forget.

Autogrind all lead and iron

How many angry players would there be if they logged in to find all of their lead and iron cards were automatically turned into scrap?

There might be even more if SD would do this a few days after a crafting week.

That’ll show those hoarders that keep dragging down that poor little database.

Honestly how much storage space does a loadout card even take up? I wouldn’t think more than a few bytes, since they’re not even randomly generated. So if you have a few thousand cards, that’s only a couple of mb at most. Sure it adds up if every player has a million cards, but I don’t think the number is that high.
