textures

Why do half the textures I have say “Shader Not Found”?

don’t take this as insulting, but think back on basics.
firstly, are they in the proper directory? they should be in …/wolfenstein - enemy territory/etmain/textures/mp_clevermapname
secondly, did you add your custom texture folder to the shaderlist.txt file?
going back to square one is generally the best way to track down the problem.

…WHAT?

I hope ya’ll are not getting annoyed by me, I’m just trying my absolute hardest to learn this, and it doesn’t come naturally for me. For one, why would I put a map in the textures directory? Secondly, I think your talking about custom textures. I haven’t made any custom textures. I’m just sayin that half the textures that came with Radiant (or ET, whatever) say “Shader not Found”.

And…I am at square one, so don’t worry about that.

ahhh, you mean the stock textures.
for the record, i didn’t mean put a map file in the textures folder, i meant putting custom textures in a folder named the same as your map, such as mp_beach or whatever.
stock textures that say shader image missing probably still work, they just dont’ have an image to represent the shader in the editor is all. hope that helps?

Ah, thanks. So how do I know what the texture looks like?

Yep, I figure they probably had textures to represent all these shaders in Radiant at one point, but since the game was given away free as a download these textures were removed from the final package since they’re not used and just taking up space. Pretty obvious if you think about it.
