Textures

(Chackazz) #1

I get A LOT of “shaders not found/image missing”'s, and triple checked my install path and don’t know why a lot of them are not showing up (I posted this somewhere but sorry can’t remember if it was this forum lol)

Also when I try and load textures it does…nothing…as far as I can tell…any help?

thx in advance

any help on importing textures would be nice…have a bunch of textures I’m dying to try on my map but can’t because it doesn’t “recognize” the directories (I’m assuming?)

ok to answer your question chackazz you just need to put a new folder in your “etmain” folder with the textures you want/need and restart the builder and all’s well

Thx chackazz

I have a question, and a note to make on the topic of textures.

Problem, i have textured a brush with a shader sky (tried several of the shader skies in fact) and they either come out as the orange lattice on black default image, or as a nothing texture that renders nothing and lets the edges of other brushes textures get dragged across as you pan in the game.

the size of the brush i used was about 2300 square by about 200 or so. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how i could fix it?

:banghead: just to note, i learned this the hard way. ET seems to only accept textures that have dimensions as a power of two. I did read a couple texturing tutorials but i must have skipped over that line, or it wasn’t there.
So your dimensions should be one of 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512, etc, maybe 1 is acceptable also (2^0). :banghead:

yah I had the orange/black problem when I compiled my .pk3 too…BUT I’m still having a problem with a lot of “shader image missing” and am stumped as to why I don’t have them but all the tutorials say they should be there…any ideas?

I had this problem, only some textures appearing.

To solve it I reinstalled Radient, but this time making sure that Radient was pointing to my ET directory, before it was just pointing to my program files.

Hope it helps.
