i have 2 quick questions
1 other than downloading maps how do i get more textures and props like tables etc for my map???

2 how do i create angled features, specifically a staircase and a bay window, which would look like this from above

                                                \____/

thanks 4 ur help!!

  1. Create textures on your own (from photos, from scratch, with PaintShopPro or PhotoShop) or search the web for free custom textures. And tables - lol - 4 small vertical brushes and one large flat horizontal brush?

  2. Use edge editing (E), vertex editing (V) or the clipper tool (X) to shear your brushes. Basics - no difficult stuff.

thanks for the reply, but ive got another question.

what does - ’ WARNING: brush plane with no normal’ mean??

this appears when i try to use (E) (V) or (X) and t this point my brush disappears.
i was first using (E) on an alpha texture - rotating my brush using surface editor when it happened. could this be part of the problem???

oh and another question; my brush thickness woulnt shrink below a certain thickness. i know they go thinner because i have used brushes in my map that are thinner then i can go now. at this point i have to clone the thin brushes and paste a new brush on it, which is all a giant pain in the ANUS!! any suggestions?

thanks peeps

you might want to lower your grid size to get thinner brushes.

be careful when E- or V-editing. alway do this in 2d views. if
you go crazy and fuck your brush up, try pressing ctrl-z to
undo your last action and try again. brushes can get invisible
when an error occurs during E- or V-editing. have a look at
the brush cleanup feature (2 round arrows in toolbar) to wipe
those nasty ghostbrushes out of your map.
