Texture problem.

(Magic) #1

Hi.
Im putting some textures on some buildings and got a problem.
You can see it from one side but not from the other side.
You can see right trew as its nothing there.
Someone had the same problem?

(Shaderman) #2

Only to be sure. Did you put the textures on both sides of a wall (brush) or only on one where others are maybe caulked?

(Magic) #3

No its not caulked on the other side.
Its working in Gtk radiant 1.4.0 as it should,
but not when im loading the mapfile in ET.

(Shaderman) #4

You need to texture those brush sides that should be visible in game. If you build a house for example where players can go inside, you need to use textures on the outer and inner side of the building

Sorry - im not good to explain.
Here are some pictures so you can see.
The one in ET looks crappy (had to bright it up).
As i said - it looks ok in radiant but not in game.
This is not the texture im gonna use - just wanted to see how it was in game.

Have just started with radiant so im appreciate any help.

It seems that you took a texture which only draws partly. You would better try another one.

If you want to see it from both sides, you need to texture both sides of the brush as Shaderman said. Most textures can only be seen from 1 side.

Maybe lots of brushes are wrecked. If you’re using Radiant 1.4, you could use plugins --> bobtoolz --> brush cleanup several times. Are there any warnings like “duplicate plane” in the console after compiling?

If that doesnt work… delete them and put them in agian… worked for me

(Magic) #9

Hmm - tried to change to other textures - same problem.
No warnings in console after compiling.
Its only on the building - evrything else is ok.
Did use the plugins --> bobtoolz --> brush cleanup and it came up with “30 possible duplicat plane” the first time-next time nothing.
I have used the clipper and CSG substract tool on the building - can that be the answear,
one time i used the CSG substract tool - it kept generating a huge brush - strange.
Ill try to rebuild whitout the tools and see what happens.
Thanks for your help.
