Something weird…
I can’t see half of my textures…
Maby i have too many textures or something ?
Cause i cant see my textures starting at n starting textures …:frowning:
Can any1 help ?

do you mean you cant see textures that begin with the letter “N” or above in radiant?

at a guess you are using radiant 1.4. download version 1.5 it has a much better texture browser

also make sure you don’t have “shaderlist only” checked or textures without a specific shader wont show up

also since there is a bit of a theme about proper posting practices going on at the moment id like to point out that you should post more information about your problem next time. If you want people to help you, help them help you

I cant see textures starting from n to the end :stuck_out_tongue:
And i like 1.4 more than 1.5 …
Altho i have 1.5 too .

(carnage) #4

and what version of radiant are you talking about if this problem is even involving radiant

I’ve had this problem when there are too many texture directories (radiant 1.4) - I think it only shows the first 200 or so. The answer is to strip the crap out of your shaderlist.txt (the default one has a lot of junk tbh). Even better trim it down to the texture sets you want to use for the particular map you are working on (keep a backup of the original so you can go back to it).

Okey :stuck_out_tongue:
Thx

Personally I wouldn’t start taking away from shader list, unless you added loads of crap yourself (not directed at anyone) instead if you got enough free space on your hard drive use a separate install of ET to map with that doesn’t have any map downloads on it just the stock ones and it wont show textures
that you don’t wont included. Also as stated by carnage turning on “show shaders only”/“shaderlist only” will also help but can hide the odd stock textures also.

yea i downloaded 1 et more and its only for mapping noW !

id just like to add some more information on why to use another install of ET for mapping

as you download a lot of custom maps you will find that all they textures used there will start to fill up your texture list. this is really bad as it gets quite confusing witch texture u need to send out with your map otherwise you will end up with a lot of missing textures e.g. if you use the custom textures from the map Venice then if you don’t take the textures out of that pk3 and include them in your own any players that haven’t downloaded the Venice map will see missing textures. Of course any texture that are in radiant on a clean install are included with the game and don’t need to be included in your pk3

basically its a good idea to use a clean install for every separate map you create then you will know exactly what textures to use in each pk3 unless you are very strict on what folders you take textures from

ripping textures from your shaderlist is probably the worst thing you can do since these wont include any texture from other mappers custom maps you will only remove your own or the default game textures. either way you remove the texture that are most useful to you

This is a handy program to get better control of you textures and sounds etc…
