I think there needs to be an HD texture pack, but the devs cant do it right now as they are busy with fixing bugs and perfecting the game. I can make a pack but I wont unless i get significant feedback. if 50+ people like this post i will start work on the pack. But devs, common. Steam Workshop integration would save SO MUCH time for stuff like new items and maps, and even texture packs and gun skins. i just started playing Dirty about 3 days ago but i heard somewhere that gun skins used to be a thing. BRING IT BACK PLEZ
Texture packs? Workshop integration?
I did not know this. Nut my opinion still remains that there should be custom skins made by the community.
Doesn’t have to be. Using the Steam Workshop for instance, submitted skins can be reviewed by the dev team and the good ones integrated officially in the game.

True, it is an extra workload though, might not be so bad if there aren’t many submissions.
Even then though that won’t stop them all, once you open the door to modifying assets you can’t stop it completely, what if people just don’t use steam workshop and modify the files directly? Or replace an existing workshop mod’s files with the overbright ones so it appears valid.
Personally I don’t care so much about overbright models since I play Quake, and this game has highlighted characters anyway. Others might kick up a stink though.
The trick is to force these to be imbedded in the game files, which you can’t edit or modify. That’s what I mean by integrated in the game, once “approved” they would basically be treated the same way as dev-made skins.
