texture loss, bobtoolz [bobtoolz solved]

(aaa3) #1

i ve heard of bobtoolz and know what it is but i couldnt get it despite very hard googling. (it was some weeks ago). how can i get it? can u send me it in e-mail? or upload it (if legal)? search gives plenty results of just talking bout it, and a (the only!) link to some quake site but file was long long ago removed from there.

==================================

omg :frowning: now im getting more and more sure that if im making models from brushwork then i will lose the original texturing. this will cause very big work as nearly all faces are custom aligned, rotated sized et c. (i only used for the very first skinning the original layout simply projected from texture image to brushes.)
im very happy im done with my first work in 1 month quite low intensity work, but im unwilling to repeat the texturing hell pain.

anyone knows a method (i guess such method doesnt exist…) with which i can … hmm… how to say… make a X, Y, Z axis projection (i meant it similar that in engineering drawing…) from the brushwork to a new texture? (i think even with plugins it would impossible.)

(Shaderman) #2

Bobtoolz come with Radiant 1.4 and 1.5 and are found under the plugins menu.

(aaa3) #3

no i dled a totally official 1.5 and its total plugin free. :frowning: :S

(-SSF-Sage) #4

Download the newest version of it! 1.5.0 26.04.2007. Link.

(kamikazee) #5

Also make sure you have select the right game… Some plugin won’t show up if the game is in eg. Doom 3 mode.

(aaa3) #6

woo i have all of them !! ty  its looks totally different lol xd

idk why the developers cant name these plenty of “1.5.0” (lol) versions to 1.5.1, .2, et c. or some other disambugation; other than just the release dates. maybe they know why is it good just i dont understand whay to have the same name different “versions”.

(any tricks to keep the textures?)

(aaa3) #7

[tons of edits; my first 5 minute of it :D)omg its much better !! much more bugfree. in the previous 1.5.0(lol) version all but 1 links were bugged in the help menu just to name the possibly less important one.
and even the shortcut list doesnt freeze! (and the preferences menu, it used to be freeze my rad also xD) i have almost asked here that if anybody knows a keyboard shortcut for copyfacetexture and paste… lol xd
and it remembers my settings lol
and the grids zoom are also better
and the manual is much more finished, detailed. covering many more topics.

but my windows colours and window styles etc are dont show :frowning: (hehe sure, it must be the biggest pain in my mapping history xD)

maybe its coz i installed this ontop of an installed gtk stuff? (that was neccessary for gimp)

(-SSF-Sage) #8

I know it is much better. The previous version I had (dunno which version of 1.5.0) didn’t crash a lot for me. Except if I did change user in xp, it did crash. New doesn’t crash either except changing user.

(Shaderman) #9

The versions you’re talking about are not official releases, they’re for testing purposes. If no major or minor changes were made, there’s no reason to increase the version numbering (especially not for GtkRadiant 1.5 in its pre-whatever state).

and the manual is much more finished, detailed. covering many more topics.

AFAIK the docs weren’t changed since 1.4 and should be the same

i definitely found new parts, which werent (im sure) in my previous one. mostly in appendix but not only there.
it looks i had some unique very bad radiant till now :stuck_out_tongue:

The current Release Candidate, on the other hand, is pretty sweet.
