Texture folder

(-xXx-Shifty) #1

I have been told before to put textures in the texture folder in both of my copies of ET to make them show up and not show the dreaded orange and black grid, but i have one question that still is unanswered…
Where exactly is this texture folder located? etmain folder?..where? i have 1 texture folder in the etmain section of both of my copys of et, with the exact same textures in each, yet none of them show up in my map. can some1 help me, please?

There are also several sub-directories.

If you want to texture a brush select the brush open the textures menu and click one of the entries (for example assault rock).
Then hit t and the texture window showing some textures should appear.

so did this help you any?

No.
The textures have to be in:

x:/PATH TO ET.exe/etmain/textures/

You will only see this if you unzip pak0.pk3.

You should put your custom (self made textures) textures in a subdirectory of the textures directory.

For example:

x:/PATH TO ET.exe/etmain/textures/MAPNAME/

your a genius nUllSkillZ

EDIT:what about the .shader file? with the other mapping files(ie hte .bsp and so on

You should unzip the pak0.pk3 file into the etmain directory (with pathes used).
Then you will see where the specific files are.
For example the shader files are in the scripts subdirectory.
