What tutorial did you follow ?

It Crashes.
So…
When I compile my map (Eder Dam) with the Q3Map2 compiler in the GtkRadiant 1.3.8-ET
It doesn’t matter what BSP I choose (: for example " (test) BSP -meta, -vis,- light, -fast, -filter") it crashes
Wich means widows says ’ program terminated ’ ( in dutch of course, because I am from Belgium)
So what sould i do
where can i find another compiler or how can i make this work?

Try just compiling with the (single) -meta. This is the minimum required compile to be able to test a map
This happens to me also, when I try to compile multiple stages all at once.
This happened to me before also. I think it ended up being a process (like some spyware) running in the background. Anyway, it worked when I stopped some processes I didn’t recognise. Could have been a co-incidence though!
i’ve downloaded the Q3MAP2 compiler
does anybody know how i can make a BSP file with it so i can testmy map?

In the DOS screen the half of the text is “WARNING: couldn’t find image for shader textures” and “error opening c:\etmain\maps\Eder.bsp: no such file or directory” or " Entity 0, Brush 913: duplicate plane"
what do i have to do with this?

“WARNING: couldn’t find image for shader textures” <<<<< Don’t worry about this just yet, this may not matter…let’s go to the other things first.
“error opening c:\etmain\maps\Eder.bsp: no such file or directory” <<<<< Sounds like a leak is stopping your .bsp processing. Go to the next statement below.
" Entity 0, Brush 913: duplicate plane" Open your ‘Eder.map’ in radiant and click the brush clean-up button. it looks like this >
(but the pink part should be grey) That should remove the problem that stops the .bsp process and eliminates the duplicate plane. I press that button several times between each save of my .maps .
To place an image here, is like this > with the link to the image in the middle of the bracketed “img’s”.

I don’t think that he installed ET directly into C:\ 
(but on the other hand, maybe he has a leak in his harddrive g)
Therefore, I guess it is a problem with directory paths… check all your paths in q3map2toolz and correct them
hmm… however, the duplicate plane warning might be an argument for the “I installed ET directly in C:, OMFG” theory =-)
i didn’t instaal ET directly in C:
but the real path was to long to type
so I shortend it

but it still isn’t working
the paths aren’t right or something
i says it’s looking for the Eder.bsp and Eder.srf
but these are the things i am trying to make
so how can i make them?
(Ah, good point Cooper, I imagined he had paths set correctly, and that the compilation was halted because of the leak. Thanks for catching that.)
There isn’t enough information here to answer your question hastings…
Did you -bsp meta your .map file ?
Did the process finish without fail ?
Did you move the .bsp file into the ‘maps’ folder inside of ‘etmain’ folder of the directory of your Enemy-Territory game ??
Are you following these steps for testing :
Testing your first room:
- load up ET.
- pull down the console (~ key)
- \set g_gametype 2
- \set sv_pure 0
- \devmap yourmap (so: \devmap eder ) get it ?
—The next steps are to create a tracemap (enables the worldspawn settings for snow/rain etc…)
