testing models

(ewarwoowar) #1

Hi guys, i am doing some testing with some models a friend has made me. He sent me the .md3 which i put into my models folder. This was sucsessfull (sp?) also he sent me 2 shader type files to go with it in .tga format.

The model loads ok, but the textures for it dont seem to be working.

  1. Are the shaders the correct format? .tga
  2. If not, what file extension should he be using?
  3. If they are correct, where do i put them within my ET folders?

Many thanks in advance

Eddie

You would need to write some .shader files for the model

EG

models/mapobjects/props_sd/basketsand
{
qer_editorimage textures/props_sd/basketsand.tga
implicitMap textures/props_sd/basketsand.tga
}

Tried that, still no texturing for the model :banghead:

Some more info…

He is making a render to texture from 3dsmax and exporting file in md3

If this helps anyone

Here is an image of the test model made in 3dsmax

Open the MD3 with NPerno’s md3 viewer (links have been posted before) to see if he included material names.
There could allso be something wrong with the UV maps.
