hello, i created a map, and i got only ~15 fps… why?? all side brushesh invisible in game have a texture ‘caulk’…
this same i got if i REcompile goldrush from source… i nothing add to map, only compile… ;/ why??
:moo: radiant
terrible FPS!!! :(
bsp -meta
and something with lights - -meta -vis - light -fast - filter
its okay?
I never use the “bunched” compiles, only use the single compiles.
Start with bBPS -meta[/b]
Then -VIS b -vis[/b]
Then do a Light compile, for a pretty fast light compile use the (single -light -fast samples 2 -filter the -bounce 8 is really just for a FINAL compile and can take several hours to complete if you have alot of light in your map.
If you after this still have problems with the FPS on Goldrush then there must be something wrong!
Why do you recommend not using the bunched compiles?
I’ve never used anything other than the radiant menu BSPs without problems.
I understand that they may run slower on systems with less RAM (hence why using a batch file helps - you haven’t got the radiant overhead), but for others I can’t say I’ve ever had issues, speed or otherwise.
Low FPS might mean pretty much everything in your map is detail, or you’ve somehow skipped the VIS stage of compile.
Are you using a batch file or radiant menu options? If using radiant, make sure you select one with VIS in it (which you claim you have… oops!).
How about posting some general pics of the map, plus a few with /r_showtris 2 on so we can get the idea? It may simply be down to too much being drawn and unfortunate map layout.
Well mainly because i dont feel i have any control over what is done, but thats just me. I feel its alot easier to know whats happening, but thats just how i feel.
