What is the best way to make the terrain for a map?
Terrain
once you have the map completed in EasyGen and opened in radiant, would you be able to modify it at all in radiant?
Yes, because it makes it with brushes, but sometimes the results are… erratic…
You can (and should) edit your rough Gensurf/Easygen terrain in Radiant afterwards in all cases - even if it’s just to fit it to buildings and so on.
The easiest way to adjust terrain is simple to lock the X and Y axes using the toolbar buttons across the top, and fly about adjusting height as required in vertex edit mode.
You shouldn’t get corrupt or misaligned brushes using this method because each terrain brush is a triangular prism (i.e. it doesn’t have to split the face, which is where 99% of the problems with vertex editing seem to stem from).
for easygen i need textures from et, where would i be able to find textures from the game?
i tried it, it isn’t listed in the folder lists when i browse for it and i tried copying it to folder for itself and i tried loading the folder and it didn’t work.
no I mean open the pak0.pk3 file with a zip program and take out all of the files. Also, you could check for your shaderlist.txt file and make sure that its where its supposed to be an filled out properly.
