the blending of the textures is pretty much fine, and it looks fine when you are up close, but when you move away from the texture, you notice that its repeating like 5000000000000000 times… heres an example of what I mean:
how do i fix this?

YOU are exporting from easygen with bad template or you not use + or - ( on keyboard )on improve texture scale , search on forum I post link on easygen videotutorial, it should be on page 5 or 6
http://members.lycos.co.uk/quakeroats/q3map2/shader_manual/
Shader manual.
checkout the parameter q3map_tcGen ivector
And the good ole Simland terrain tutorial is awesome:

Sweet thanks the + button helped a lot
only thing is, it only helps in Easygen… once i play the map on ET, the terrain is still looking exactly the same as before
Nevermind I FIXED IT
I tried it with standard template and it works great… thanks a lot
when i use easy gen i can make the terrain ow i like but,…
when exportin whats alphashader and metashader for…
they are shaders used to determine where your textures will be and where and how they will blend where they intersect…
not completely sure about this, but i think the metashader is actually an image in a few colors. Each color is a different texture.
The alphashader defines what texture to give the different colors and how to blend the textures that are intersecting.
So yeah you need them both if you are using blended textures…
Have you ever painted textures in easygen?
If you did, click the button that will show the textures in colors (don’t have accesto easygen atm so dont know the name).
This will be outputted to the metashader, viewed from above.
This way the game knows where one texture starts and the other ends.
Because your terrain in GTK will have only one texture (common/terrain) so without the metashader/alphashader there is no way of knowing where you painted your textures on the terrain…
poor guy, his Google is broken, that’s ok mine works

btw, using official forum avatars is kinda poor taste
