terrain/metashaders trouble

Hi,

having the same problem as sub-zero when trying to use EasyGen generated terrain with alphamaps. cfr the thread http://splashdamage.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=490&forum=8&2.

Anyway, I also tried stock metashaders that come with SOF2 and they also fail in Q3Map2. Ydnar posted a “fixed” metashader in the above thread, but he gave no textual explanation.

So I’d really like someone to explain what I should do to my metashader to make this work. What was wrong in that metashader? Is the syntax for metashaders different between SOF2MAP and Q3Map2?

Make sure the shader that’s on the brushes (tools/terrain in SOF2, common/terrain in Wolf) has “q3map_terrain” in it.

Q3Map2 supports a number of things for better terrain. Use the shader I posted in that other thread as a template.

Read this I did a how to for easygen and the new q3map2 2.2.33 or above.
