Tell everyone your opinion on Brink

There are so many complaints on crashes and frame rates and such. Even for lucky people like myself being able to play the game, it’s a complete and utter disappointment. I understand this game has already been delayed, but don’t release an incomplete/buggy as hell game. The current version does not even deserve to be called a beta. Us gamers liked your enthusiasm and all the big talk in commentaries but I am sure a large portion of us who purchased Brink feel robbed. We put our faith in you and you give us this hot steaming pile of crap. I am not even going to give any reasons to support this claim because all you need is 5 minutes into Brink. But of course I played over 3 hours because I believed that maybe if I just played just a little longer, something awesome and unexpected will happen that might spark my interest… it never happened.

Tell everyone your opinion.

EDIT: I have the PC edition btw, I cannot judge any other versions as I’ve never played those.

I think brink is a great game i love it but the bots need to stop camping the objective on be more objective. I swear i was stuck on the repair one for 5 minutes

(PillowTalk) #3

It was everything I hoped for.

I don’t much care for the audio bug, nor the invisible players bug, or the tiling of my textures bug…

But those are all minor annoyances that I am fairly sure will be patched and then I can just go on playing the game without thinking about those damn lines everywhere in a world of silent, invisible murderers.

The game is a unfinished, buggy joke. I feel like I’ve had my faith in SD taken advantage of

I don’t want to believe the people who made wolf et, one of my all time favorite games, made this piece of **** and duped people into buying it

(kozzy) #5

I love it!!!
8.5/10 so far!
Breath of fresh air as far as onlien shooters go!

The only thing negative about the game imo is the horrid server browser, other then that I LOVE the gameplay, art design, graphics, performance, leve deisgn, etc…

PC version I have.

Good game is good. Haters will be haters.

(MrLevi) #7

I’ve only played for an hour, but so far that hour was a blast.

A long write up of my opinion on BRINK. I very much so enjoy the game, already have 12 hours player and it’s only day one! :stuck_out_tongue:

I give it an 8/10 and with a bit of patching, easily a 9/10! Very fun game, I do recommend. It lived up to my expectations.

Believe me, I want to like this game but it’s just impossible. I have been a PC gamer for quite a while and I have quite a rig, so that’s out of the question. All the movement and interaction doesn’t feel smooth whatsoever…

Everyone mind telling me what system they play on? Everyone i read up on or talk to either love it or hate it.

(xartion) #10

Developers churning out another steaming pile. Gee, what a surprise. I don’t know why I spent so much money on this rig if all FPS games these days are horrible. Oh btw, I have a i7 930 @ 4.2, 6gb ram, radeon hd 6990, ssd, etc. and the game still doesn’t feel smooth.

I’d love to give my opinion on Brink.

The splash art you see right after you launch the game is nice.

That’s all I’ve formulated so far, Brink always stops working right then and there.

I’m having a fair amount of fun with it.

Although, the Allied AI seems to be stuck on “Mentally Deficient Kitten” while the Enemy AI seems to fluctuate between the same, and “Tough as Nails.” It’s especially bad during any of the maps requiring an item to be run from one place to another.

It would also be nice to be able to change body during a mission… but, it’s an acceptable limitation.

All that said, it is a very fun game, and fairly balanced, assuming buffs get passed out. (Or absolutely no one buffs…)

(DoctorPazuzu) #13

I having an all out blast. Best multiplayer game I’ve played in ages.

I only have a small list of changes I would like to see made. 1. As we all have seen or experienced first hand the amount of ammo required to take down a downed enemy is a little much. One to two shots should be all it takes. 2. Character movement is a tad slow (ive been the medium body so far) im not wanting a COD twitch style but forward speed could be a bit more for evasion of bullets. 3. The AI could use a boost in awareness. It also seems as if the theres an unending amount of enemies and just a few of your team mates. The enemies swarm objectives and make defense points and flanking routes while your team just runs around aimlessly. The medics do a decent job of keeping you revived. Thats all I can think of for the moment. I have been doing the challenges instead of SP just to unlock the extra stuff.

Awesome game. Less buggy than Homefront. More fun. SMART works decently well. Combat is flawless. Objective handling is intuitive. Maps are well designed and easily playable. 9.5/10 in my book. I dock 0.5 for initial bugs. Already netted 13+ hours of gameplay.

(Nail) #16

Dude, if it takes so many bullets to kill, you don’t need high speed to evade, but this is a SD game, headshots and general aiming are THEE most important things, you have to be able to aim as well as they can. On Brandon’s PC footage on justin.tv it looks so much like W:ET style kills that a tear came to my eye

played 14.5 hours today as per steam

loved every second of it, really a great game, its exactly what i expected it to be, i think a lot of people hating on it just expected it to be another generic COD rehash, when clealry it wasn’t going to be one.

its so great, finally a game like this comes around,

the game has very few actual issues, i think ATI users have problems that needs patching (i use nvidia) and there is the no-sound issue that needs to be patched, and one issue with the “tower” map i believe its called, you can shoot out of the windows, but not into, i think that will be exploited. besides those easily patched issues, minor tweaks to the balance and netcode and stuff, and this game will last me a loooong time, i hope they come out with new maps, with a lot more parkour stuff, my least favorite map is the one where you escort the guy inside of the building, i think its called aquarium , you cant do much parkour there, and the way the map is setup, you get spawn raped pretty hard if the team doesnt know what they are doing

besides all that, im glad i bought it, glad i played it, will continue to play it for a long time

Here is my opinion I made on my post.

So I picked up Brink and gave it a whirl and here is how I feel about the game so far. We all know the PSN is down so obviosuly I haven’t tried the MP yet so I can’t give you my opinion on that. The character customization is pretty cool and there is a good bit to choose from but not as big as I thought it would be. I really dig the gun customization though. I like giving my character and weapons a personal touch to them so that’s a plus.

After messing around with my character(isn’t too much to change at first because most of the stuff is unlocked by leveling up or challenges) I decided to try the story. The story is basically the MP with bots so you get the basic idea of how the MP gameplay will be. There are cutscenes in between missions to lay out the story but so far I really don’t feel connected to the characters or feel sucked in but then again I bought Brink for the class based MP and not the story.

The game runs smooth from what I can tell and hasn’t frooze or crashed for me(yet!). The smart system is easy to use and controls are easy to grasp after some play time. SMART is cool but don’t expect to climb and do all these tricks. If you were expecting extreme parkour then prepare to be disappointed. Still SMART is a pretty cool feature that I welcome and can come in handy for evading gunfire from the enemy.

The most apparent problem I see in the game is the textures. The textures sometime take a sec to load up so the game can seem a little eh at times visually but overall the game is good looking. My overall opinion of the game is that I like it so far but without online I can’t give all the features a review. The online could be a buggy mess for all we know and that would ruin my opinion on the game. So as of now I like the game but I can’t really know for sure until PSN is online. I just hope it run relatively smooth and no disconnects.

If you were into Brink pre release and are well aware how the the game plays out I say give it a go but if you are on the edge then I wouldn’t recommend the game because I wouldn’t want you to get disappointed. This seems like a hit or miss game and some will love it and some won’t. My only hope is online runs smooth and I will really like this game. A few patches and future DLC will make this game worth while!

(Cheerio) #19

I tried and i mean TRIED to get into it. But it just didnt work for me. It seemed like a game made in heaven. I <3 class based shooters. Mixed with some unreal happenstances and abilities. Sign me up. But the execution was a bit off. I tried but it didnt live up to my expectations :frowning: I am very sorry SD very cool game but just not my type (and im not a fanboy of any game, if anything I was a fanboy of this game)

(Xerxes52) #20

Great so far, but the enemy bots are kicking my ass…

…on easy.

They’re about equivalent to hard or insane bots on other games. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but tone 'em down a bit?

Except for friendly AI, they do need a bit of improvement (i.e. watching an Operative sit next to a hack objective doing nothing while no enemies are around, Soldiers not planting charges, etc). I’m an Engineer, and while I hand out tons of Kevlar and Damage buffs, I can’t fix stupid.
