Teams coming out of lobby are pretty awful lately

Just need an auto-balance mid-game. Was forced to play 3 vs 5 for 5 rounds on execution.
I’m not trying to skip over logistics and make brash assumptions. DB’s current balancing system is effective however you and I both know it can be improved.

It’s currently pretty limited with how it balances. It is using your score per minute I’m certain as a heavily weighted value for a player’s ELO but I think it uses your overall value across all mercs instead of a per merc value that is actually in your current squad. And the system doesn’t factor in who has a medic available or engineer available etc causing a team to get screwed sometimes even if the values on both sides are “equal”.

I think those issues could be easily fixed and would help balance a bit. Nothing will make it perfect but I don’t believe those changes would be too taxing on the dev team or the data warehouse/hardware. And getting rid of perception issues like showing overall account level while also adding in prompts like, “you need a healer” or “you need an engineer” before the lock-in happens would go a long way too towards making better games. Less people will rage quit based on random numbers on a scoreboard and more people might actually try to be a team player.

@Maverix_GT To reply minus the condescension, experience is a part of determining skill. It does not equal skill. I’ve explained this pretty well in multiple posts over many threads now. Experience/time played does not equal skill level. Or are you arguing this?
You keep saying “Experience/Time”. Experience is different from time. I’m saying that Experience DOES equal skill. Not “Experience/Time = Skill”.

I’m no pro player. I don’t plan to play competitive, but I want to practice to play well. I’m also one of those players who don’t have the pleasure of a good computer set up. This is my first FPS. I’ve played enough games to reach level 18 because I’ve really enjoyed the game. I understand the concept of the game. I’m just not great at kills and positioning. A few weeks ago, I literally raged quit because a competitive lvl 40-some un-constructively criticized me for being bad for a lvl 18. This happened in a min lvl 10 server. I wanted to play it because I want some competency. I’m not the best, but again, I get the game. This incident made me feel unwelcome to this community and game. Yeah, I know that’s how a lot of games are. You get shat on if you’re not good. Man up and deal with it. I get it. But honestly, as much as I should get over it, I still feel like this was really unfair. This was an incident based off levels. I may have made mistakes, but any lvl 30, 40, 50+ can make mistakes. Sure, they give you a scope of how someone should play but man, I now feel like I’m not welcome to any min lvl 10 servers anymore. Perhaps the devs really need to fix comp because now the competitive players are occupying min 10 rooms and flushing standard players out. I don’t know… I can’t join any teams to get better because I’m not good enough but the set up of 8v8 and others are just wildcards. I know my place in the game and I feel like I’m stuck.

Just now, I played a server where two premade players were calling random people shit and weren’t worthy of their “team”. They both leave, and lol, they’re not the top scores. No one was trying to apply to their team. These premade mentalities are sometimes crazy. It’s good to see some people are going competitive for the comp scene but I’m not sure if that’s just because comp is broken and they’re all in pubs now.

Sorry for the whiny rant but…I mean, this kind of experience here can effect how people want to play this game. I’m just an average player with no affiliations.

Try not to take what is said in an FPS personally. I feel like someone saying you’re shi#y is pretty mild. I can’t even post half the names or things people have said to me in online games. I’m not even black and i’ve been called the N word. I’m not a girl and i’ve been called the C word. I’m not even a poop and I’ve been called a piece of shi#.

Just because one jerk online is being an idiot, doesn’t mean you’re unwelcome. It just means you’re playing a multi player game where “Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB” =P

Yeah, pretty much. I gotta beat that into my head sometimes.
