Team Shuffles - The logic?

(triteTongs) #1

You just spent 15 minutes doing the objectives on stopwatch.
Half time, switch sides.
You stop them from the first objective until two minutes left in the game.
They call a vote shuffle.
4 people vote yes, the game accepts the shuffle.

The newly balanced teams now have 2 minutes to get the rest of the objectives in the game.
They inevitably lose and those who got unlucky enough to get switched over to a helpless team won’t get their daily win bonus. Those who got lucky enough to be switched to the winning team just got free credits.

How does this make sense? I was never a fan of shuffles and that’s why I always vote no in ANY VIDEO GAME THAT HAS SHUFFLES. Just end the game, you lost. Suck it up. You can’t call for a rematch right in the middle of a game.

Team shuffles should be disabled after halftime in a stopwatch game. You should also retain your win bonus if you happen to get shuffled to the losing team.

Yea, teams are beginning to just call a shuffle vote a few minutes before they lose. Pretty fucken stupid.

And every pub I’ve played now, somebody has spammed the vote 5+ times.

(watsyurdeal) #3

Ok…granted I hate losing as well…but this does need to be stopped. Take your losses like men, don’t pull out at the last minute just cause you can’t handle it.

(Harlot) #4

Yea, that doesn’t work. You and I both know just telling people to take their losses isn’t a fix. Shuffle teams needs to be disabled at halftime.

(DMaster2) #5

Is that a new thing of this patch? Because until this afternoon i didn’t saw a single shuffle vote passing. I literally don’t know how it works visually.

(Harlot) #6

Last patch they weren’t passing, even when the pass threshold was met. They are definitely working now. Every fucking moron is spamming the vote as soon as he realizes his team is going to lose.

(LifeupOmega) #7

I’ve had this a few times this week, and only this week. Seems like people are just being fucking salty and can’t own up to just not playing as well as the other team did, so they need to make others who deserve the win lose.

The logic is as follows:

(Jostabeere) #9

Life isn’t fair.

(triteTongs) #10

Then call a vote to surrender.

Not to shuffle and swap with someone else’s life

(Black) #11

Wait. What if during the halftime 2 or 3 players on a team leave and high skilled players join to fill in their spots?

Still don’t want team shuffle?

(Lumi) #12

I think you’re making a big deal out of this. The daily win is a single win over an entire day. If you play only one game per day then too bad, buy I’d assume you and others play more than one game a day.
So what you’re actually considering as people sneak stealing the win bonus most likely is just a genuine attempt to get a balanced game. They also most likely got their win bonus already and you’re part of the much bigger problem of unbalanced games.
Some people have been complaining about the new way that objective mode works but I welcome it, because people like you make it a necessity by being selfish instead of considering the bigger picture.

No one is trying to legitimately balance a game 2 minutes before the end of a stopwatch match.

I have no problem with shuffles. Most games shuffle at the beginning of a game. That’s fine. I like that. This game already does that in the lobbies.
But I think it’s unsportsmanlike to call a shuffle vote when after it’s impossible to win.

Nope, still don’t want it.

(CCP115) #14

I can see your concern but it is a pub.

Just call them assholes under your breath and go on your merry way stomping them.

(Lumi) #15

Again, you just don’t get it. It’s not about winning. It’s about having been frustrated of the unbalanced game up until that point and hoping for two minutes of actually balanced game. Who cares if you win or not. Too many people give winning too many importance in this game and that’s wrong. This game had so much appeal to me because in closed beta, games were always neck a neck and balanced. I never mind losing then, because I felt I did my best, my team was in synergy and the other team just played better. Nowadays, more often than not, it’s just one of two outcomes: oh I’m in the strong team or oh I’m in the crappy team.

The new objective system has started to bring back that old feeling of balanced games. And I definitely get when people ask for a shuffle when the game is clearly unbalanced, even two minutes before it ending. It’s about having a great gaming experience, not about winning.

(Bangtastic) #16

Disable shuffle, since it doesnt work in most cases anyway. As mentioned above in 90 per cent of cases it is abused to join the winning team. With the new lobby changes, teams get balanced before every match. So this makes shuffle obsolete imo.

(Feley) #17

Vote surrender instead of vote shuffle… Also vote shuffle for first 5 minutes of the match would be good, by then you can probably see if you are getting stomped…

On the othe hand surrender would only work in stopwatch mode since there is no point in surrendering if you still have a chance of defending/planting objective and getting that win…

(Black) #18

Vote shuffles only get passed when 51% of the lobby agrees to it. I highly doubt someone on your team would vote yes if they are stomping them let alone all the enemy team members vote yes.

It’s never been abused when I play.

Shuffle is about balancing, so it’s a good thing IF it could balance the teams as fairly as possible.

The game isn’t about winning or losing, it’s about having fun and what fun is it if it’s a one way stomp?
I usually don’t see and approve of shuffles as long as either side can put up a fight, but when one of the sides is getting spawncamped so hard they can’t even leave the spawn, where’s the fun in that? for anyone?
I enjoy good sportsmanship in competitive games, just like the trailer says: Don’t be a dick!

Currently I believe the shuffle balances teams according to score, which I think is not that great, as you earn score many other ways other than just killing and it’s really hard to have balanced teams that way, so I would like to think shuffle would work better if it would balance teams according to KDA.

I enjoy this game a lot and I really never mind losing if it’s equal and intense.

(Wait...What?) #20

I agree. There is only one situation where pulling out last minute is acceptable
