Thanks, I was seriously thinking I was talking in tongues or something.
Team Overlay and Player Locations
My point here is why not see where your whole team is, whether they’re you’re friends or not you are playing with them aren’t you? And if not why the hell play an objective shooter?
Please point out where I said the rest of your team will not be shown on the map. Go back and try it with ET then come back and tell me it has a bad effect on your team trying to do the game.
We’re not talking about a map, see the OP with the picture. This is a team overlay with text location of each player.
If all you’re asking to colour some of that information because they’re you’re friends than sure, why not if it floats your boat. What I’m failing to understand is the knee-jerk assumption that Fireteams which limit information displayed to just its members are somehow more useful than a full team display. The only explanation given so far has been that “60%” of people play the game not to play it and that fireteams are great for chilling with your mates.
By all means if I’m missing something here please attach a screenshot or explain why. I just don’t see much more that “because I want fireteams” being used as justification for them over a general team overlay.
Sorry for not responding earlier Sock, I have been away.
I just like the fireteam to minimize clutter. When pugging, if a player knew what they were about, I would just invite them to the fireteam. If they are just there to frag or don’t have a clue, I don’t really care where they are or what they are doing, I would also like a fireteam specific chat as Ruben mentioned.
That being said, I played a lot of Q3 and the overlay works too. On this, it’s mainly a visual preference for me and I would be fine with either option.
