Team colors in lobby

I could be wrong on this but isn’t Blue the Attack team and Red for Defenders?

I usually pick my mercs that I’m going to use on Objective based on the team color I’m on (I assume that it correlates). But lately I’ve noticed that I can be assigned to the Red team and when the game loads I’m actually attacking.

I know on a few occasions that when I’ve seen the following situation when having a friend in the server at the same time: If I am on one team and my friend is on the other, I could show being on red and he can be on blue. But if you looked at his lobby he was on red and I was on blue…

When a new game/map is starting you don’t know what team you are on until the the very end. You’ll notice that until that moment no one is one color or the other.

Shouldn’t that not be the case?

But like heck my classes are heavily dependant on whether I am attacking or defending if it’s objective.

i thought blue is for defenders and red is for attackers for a long time

I did too, but I think when I was trying to figure it out and paying attention to it, it was just purely coincidence that it always worked out that way. Seems to be random at the moment. Plenty of games on Underground at the moment where I am defending after starting on the red team.

Edit: Unless that is an entirely new bug that has just started. Tbh it was only about 2-3 weeks ago I was working it out and like you I kinda of figured blue was always defending and red was always attacking. I remembered it as “bd” and “ra”, but yeah the last few days heaps of defending games have been happening with me on the red team.

I’m sorry I was thinking of the wrong mode - On stop watch this happens… Once teams are selected you still have ~30 seconds to choose your merc.

Oh, okay and yes it is blue for defenders and red for attackers. =)
