Team Balancing/Stacking

(glossyFish) #1

So I’m sitting at around level 17 right now. And because of the way the team balancing system in this game works I always get put on the team with the sub level 5s, while everyone on the other team is at like 7-9. I wouldn’t have an issue with this, I mean, I’m supposed to be the best player on that team to try to carry them, except this system does not at all work like that.

The autobalancing system in this game is made absolute garbage because every round you get a handful of tryhards who just switch teams every time, because they know they got put on the low team because of their high level. What happens is then that one team has mostly decent players who know how to play the game, and the other has 1-2 good players and a bunch of new players.

The only way to solve this would be to either remove the autobalance at the beggining, and just let people choose their team, or just remove the option to switch teams, and have it just autobalance the teams based on levels.

TL;DR: Autobalancing sucks, teams are almost always stacked. The game is not fun if either side is steam rolling, even if you’re on the steam roller team.

Balancing is not based on levels at all. If you’re being put on the team with level 5s it either thinks you can carry them, or they can carry you.

At any rate, regardless of what the criteria is for the autobalancing, it’s kind of a broken system when teams are autobalanced, and you can still switch teams. Congratulations on making a comment that manages to contribute almost nothing at all, and missing the point entirely. Which is that teams are stacked in this game far more often than they should be, to the point where it makes playing this game in pubs a nightmare.

Congratulations on making a thread that hasn’t been made 10 times before and contributing nothing new to the on going discussion about the problem.

I took the post for what it was, a whine post because you always get the ‘bad team’.

Unless they make a party system so people can always be on the same team as their friends then removing the ability to switch teams is a bad idea. Even then, I’ve seen some people switch teams when their team has 2 more people, which is good as well. Removing team switching is a horrible idea.

Don’t think that you’re somehow superior because you waste enough time here to have 700 posts. I didn’t see another thread about this issue, and the issue is still very much present in the current game. Stop being such a shit head that just says “git gud”, “Stop whining”, when there is an actual flaw with the game. And sure there are plenty of things that you could say that too, like pretty much any case where someone complains about a merc being imbalanced, or maps being defender sided. But this is entirely different. This is a team game, where having balanced teams is necessary for the game to be any fun at all. And unlike all those other things your team isn’t something you really have any control over. Most of the time you just can’t carry hard enough. You can have 3 times the score of the next best player on your team, and still be getting destoryed, because your team doesn’t know the basics, and is unwilling to listen, while the other team is experienced.

I’m sure this has been mentioned before, and I’m sure it’s not an easy problem to fix, but that doesn’t make it constructive for a shit head like you to come in here, and to say nothing of value other than "Stop whining, this has been disccussed a million times before, so that clearly makes it a non issue. I bet if you were around during colonial times you would have said: “Slavery, eh it’s fine, people have been complaining about it for centuries, stop complaining that you got the ‘bad race’.”

Edit for the guy above me: I agree with you that there would need to be some way to play with your friends, that’s probably what makes it so difficult to fix team stacking, it’s an issue in every multiplayer game that can’t be solved without causing other problems. It still needs to be adressed though. Knowing that when you enter a game, that it will be mostly balanced does a lot for the longevity of games and communities.

Every single bloody forking one of your posts is seriouslyy borderline toxic… Its always like ‘im good, you are bad , git good’… More or less you act like everybody who disagrees with you are bunch of retards. For the game i used to play, i remember 2 players like you. One of them got permanent banned for this behaviour and another one got seriously hammered…

You are like , ’ i know a lot of english words and i will use big words just to show im good’…

The OP does have a good point.

Team switching is horrible idea, i have seen players switching from / to mine , because they wants to win. The autobalance is in horrible state, it always puts me in a team with ABSOLUTE RETARDS… Yes i said it, absolute retards… I am not talking about newbies, but those idiots who are level 5+ , who still has no idea that multiple players cant repair/arm/disarm a thing at the same time… When i get teams like this, i simply switch to spectate mode and watch the round, because i would rather watch a round than playing with retards…(even though i have no issue losing a round, since winning / losing i would get Credits)

You’ll notice that barely any post I make is ‘borderline toxic’ unless it is in retaliation. My first post in this thread had absolutely no venom in it and was simply an informative post to help OP understand how what he was talking about works better. Sure I could have spoken about other things he mentioned, at this time I didn’t feel like it.

He then attacked me with a sarcastic comment showing he clearly didn’t understand the post for what it was and frankly, I have a very short fuse when dealing with idiots - especially when there wasn’t even an argument for him to attack from. My post was simply in retaliation to his own.

You just have bias against me since I called you entitled for saying people deserved more free shit from playing than they already get and peddling level rewards.

I’m sorry if my vocabulary makes you uncomfortable; it’s just how I speak. It would be a great effort to change how I speak just because you feel intimidated by it.

And then you had to do the same thing.

In any case, I’m also curious about this “balancing” in pub servers. They did mention “by skill”, but does that mean our performance in pub servers are tracked or something that we don’t get to know? Further, I’d really like it if they do a mandatory shuffle at the start of every game since god knows when a vote shuffle ever happened.

(Ghosthree3) #10

As far as I have been able to determine ‘by skill’ means based on the scores of the previous round. It is extremely flawed as most people leave after the round is over and new ones join.

The auto balance could use some work.

I just try to play with friends. Gives me either someone to play with that is decent or a target to go for and have fun.
