TCE-Map: Dedust

(ak47simons) #1

This map is made for the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory mod - True Combat: Elite. It’s based on the all-known Counter-Strike map - de_dust. It also have some improvements, that the original map don’t have (some new paths etc.).

Short description for objective play: Terrorists have to destroy one of the bombsites (A or B), Spec Ops have to defend them.

This map is available on AK-47.PL servers, so you can test it there:

You wouldn’t say it is an ET map. It looks so good

But you can’t play this on plain ET right?

I don’t think so.
TC:E requires some high def. textures which don’t come with the default ET paks.
I’m sure ak47simons used TC:E pak textures, so you can’t run it on your ET server without having texture problems.

Unless I’m wrong, though.

Would be great if he would also make a plain TE version map

shagileo is right - this map won’t run on plain ET server, it needs TC:E installed (cause it was made for this mod). There are 2 major reasons for this situation:

  • there are some textures and models from the main tce pack,
  • scalling in TC:E is quite different than in plain ET.

Working on ET version is not so simple, because this map would be mostly made from scratch - all because of things that I mentioned before. I recommend to check this map in TC:E

good job. But is TC:E still active? Since it is being remade on xreal engine afaik under the name code 43?

Yep, TC:E is still alive. The last weeks were very good for this mod - new severs shown up, new maps have been made, Warleagues SummerCup 09 was played last summer, Nations Cup 2009 is still playing, many new players have started their adventure with TC:E and so on.

About Code 43 - it’s not the continuation of TC:E. Here’s what Diane from Team Terminator said about this on official board:
