haha nice Noc! i was thinking bout doing that, but i was too lazy

(Nocturne) #3

well took me about 15 minutes lawl.

btw twisty, what about our plans for the battle fo the sexes mod? male vs female? I’ll see if I can find some female voices lol

(Lanz) #4

Hmm, did you get their permission to rip their skins like this?

Just asking because if I where them, I would have liked to keep my work in my mod only.

(Nocturne) #5

sigh here we go again lawl…

btw I have seen multiple skin packs, oftenly “borrowed” from other mods :
and besides that, It’s just an experiment… if they want it stripped* then I’ll strip it, no problem… and I didnt alter their skins because they’re great as they are… and it stays on the same game.

and what about the numerous servers running with images from COD etc? they tranfer images to a completely different game.

*stripped: To remove the file from the net…

(EB) #6

they’d probably get a giggle out of it.

Besides, did TCE get written permission to change SD’s skins ? Also, Nocturne never claimed to have made or altered the skins.

How many files have I made that I have found modded or broken up and replaced or had the readme removed…ALOT !!! Nocturne still gives credits…that’s better than 80 percent of the community just for doing that !

(Lanz) #7

Well 10 people doing wrong doesn’t make the 11th right. From my point of view it’s just polite to ask before doing, if they say no, you leave their stuff alone, if they say yes, well by all means do. Sure they may get a laugh from it, but they might just as well get pissed.

You already have certain limited rights to alter the game content in form of the EULA.

Anyway, I know this is a fucking hot potato in most modding comunities and I’ve got no interest in preaching, so do what the hell you want, as if you wouldn’t anyway lol.

(EB) #8

Agreed,

just to ask for permission shows alot of integrity and respect… people DO NOT forget this stuff.

@ Lanz…this is a hot potato huh ? lol.
Asking for permissions = respect = making a better community. <<And believe me…we need more friendships in this community of ours.

@Nocturne, if you are looking to build credit in your name for an idea generator or whatever then I’d suggest asking for permission WHENEVER using anyone elses work (when not used as a learning tool). Otherwise, if you just want ooh’s and ahhh’s and you aren’t trying to make a name for yourself, then just tell us to F’off BUT just remember…we’ll remember which one you choose !

Either way…I still think they’d get a giggle out of it.

(Nocturne) #9

I know asking is showing some respect, but 90% of the time you will be ignored by those dinosaurs lol…

and I dont want credit for other people’s bonebreaking work rofl and I hope they will get a giggle out of it

(Jaquboss) #10

I am 100% agains that, when I used not-my skins I asked and I recieved that I can…
If you didnt do that then you shouldnt post anything…
TCE is great mod and I am 100% agains anyone who is disassembling it and using it in theese ways …
If you like these skins , play TCE !
If you want them with ET ask for permission or do your own…
At least you could write Team Terminator And Grove six studios as authors…

(Nocturne) #11

file has been taken offline…

everyone’s a critic nowadays…

so can any admin plz delete this threaD? thnx

(twister3982) #12

omg r u ppl serious??? he gave credit and i think it was a great idea to make TC:E skins. I’m sure they will think nothing of it. i mean i would LOVE if someone made a skinpack from my mods, that tells me how cool the mod is if someone wants to make skins out of it. goodjob noc. and yes, i do have some female voices, but i need more female skins though lol

(Jaquboss) #13

jsut ask for permission first, then it is no problem…
And well is that so hard to contact TT PR Guy ( Lord Kaos or Nazgul i think ) ?

(SCDS_reyalP) #14

I’m glad you decided to do the right thing.
