Taxi- New Merc idea

This Merc might be a bit goofy and OP, but of course, this idea can be changed by the developers if they do think about adding this Merc to the game. Anyway my idea is a Merc that excels at taking out big targets, kinda like the sniper merc and Phantom. Except he does it safely, my idea is this…

Taxi, a regular young man that got trapped in London, now after some surviving and taking small jobs, he’s gained enough reputation to join the big time Mercs in their jobs, Taxi is fast and can hold his own in a fight, but his expertise is not running in the open with a Shoot me sign on his head, its staying in cover, while getting rid of the people that like to have “Shoot me” signs on their heads

HIS STATS (changes incoming)

HEALTH: same as Proxy

SPEED: Skyhammer speed.

ability 1. Explosive car.
Taxi will set out a small car with explosives strapped to the back, he then can use a remote control to drive the car around the map, but there is a limit to how far it can go, if it goes out of reach, it will turn into a mine, that can be triggered by nearby enemies, or the Taxi that placed it. When triggered, the car will explode for HIGH amounts of damage, the explosion, can kill Taxi, and also, the car can be shot and exploded, but it has good health. Also if Taxi is killed while driving the car, it will explode and Taxi will re-spawn. Also the car CAN be destroyed by Proxy Mines, so don’t drive reckless, or do, and help your team a bit by getting rid of those damn mines.

Ability 2. Recon. Alex car will spot enemies for a short time, making them visible to all teammates, this ability will not last long, and it mostly for spotting and tagging big targets like Rhino, Sniper merc (don’t know his name) and Phantoms. (also Fraggers, Proxys, Skyhammers, ETC)))

WEAPONS (changes incoming)

Primary weapons: SMG. When the **** hit the fan there was a lot of death, and lucky for Taxi, he came across a dying Merc one day, which resulted in his First finish and assist, also a thumbs up from some masked guy with a Kataana that could go invisible (who could that be) and awesome looking SMG. Taxi primary gun would be a SMG or light machine gun for good range, but low damage.

Secondary weapon: Revolver. Taxi was once in a westerner style bar, he also got in a fight in that said bar, and that fight resulted in his first kill, and a revolver, that the dead man said was the best gun in close quarter fighting, what a coincidence! A fast shooting revolver does high damage, but has slow reload, and small clip.

Melee weapons. when London got Quarantined, Taxi had to survive with whatever he could find, and fortunately and unfortunately for him, he found a piece of wood with Nails in it. The Nailed Plank~ its effective, it bashes skulls while impaling them at the same time, its got a slow swing tho, and a even slower power swing, but its effective at taking out targets, or at least lowering their health for your team mates to handle.

This is my idea, its simple, and might go against some of Dirty Bombs mechanics, but i feel it might be a game changer, the car could be used to take out strong points, sentries, camping snipers, and Rhinos that murdered your entire team, also this Merc, would excel at most gamemodes, being able to stay safe while attempting to take out the other team is a great tactic, but watch out, if the others know there is a Alex on the team, they most likely will look for him, and Alex might be able to handle a fight, but a Skyhammer or any Strong assault class can even take him out.

Also before anyone says “THIS MERC HAS NO COUNTER. HE SUCKS”. He does have a counter, which is Phantom, and Rhino. Phantom can go invisible, and sneak behind enemy lines,and remember, that I’m not saying just any Phantom can do this, noob phantoms get killed rather quickly, so don’t expect to be a noob Phantom and expect to dominate a Taxi unless you really know how to play the game, and Phantom. If Taxi is huddled in the corner, driving a car, Phantom can do a little dance and then end him. Rhino is a Counter because, of course, Rhino can mow down Taxi and his car with the minigun, plus the car (might not) be able to kill rhino in one hit, making him a target Taxi has to track and assault to kill. Alex also counters charters Like proxy and Sniper Merc (his name is vissal i think) by destroying Proxys mines, and detonating the car at snipers feet. More Characters that counter a Taxi, (Skyhammer, Fragger, Vassil, and Proxy).

Please don’t hate on this character, i know the chance of him being added is low and all this typing and thinking would be useless, but i actually worked hard on this to the point where i asked other players and friends what they though, for example, Alex weapons were originally gonna be a regular Shotgun, pistol and Knife, but players then said he be too regular, and id be just adding another Proxy like character to the game, so i thought for a bit, came up with the weapons, and gave them all a little story.

Also, go comment on my other Merc idea, its not as well developed as this, but close to it.

I have been reading this for some time now, and here’s what I’m going say about it.
For the health and speed balance, 110 HP with 450 SPD sounds pretty OP for a Recon.

First of all, ‘Alex’ the name itself sound too generic, ‘Alex’ itself doesn’t mean a thing, unlike some of the merc names like Proxy (Proximity Mines), Nader (Grenade Launcher), Fragger (Frag Grenades), Arty (Artillery Strike), or Phantom (Ghost).

Primary ability as an ‘Explosive Car’, is just a portable version of Aimee’s third eye with an explosive upgrade. Spilling acid and the mini-flamethrower is absurd, not trying to be rude here, but it does not fit the game style of DB of being quick and rapid. Phantom probably cannot counter Alex, the Katana can’t OHK Alex (even with the Chopper perk) and Alex is much faster than Phantom, and Rhino can pretty much counter most of the mercs.

I can already imagine Alex, as a Recon with an SMG, hiding around a corner just driving his explosive RC car. He detonates it, killing 1 or 2 mercs in a chokepoint. From that point on until the ability cooldowns, Alex becomes an Assault merc, sticking in frontline then hide back in his corner. What I’m trying to say here is - Alex does not include any element of Recon except the ability to ‘tag’ enemies, which is clever, but does very tiny comparing to major abilities such as planting, defusing, supplying ammo and health, or reviving.

There is a nice backstory and I can see that you spent a lot of time developing this merc. I wouldn’t say this merc is a bad idea, but considering the fact that Aimee will be released pretty soon as the 4th and final Recon, chances are - this wouldn’t even get looked at by the devs.

Ive changed a few things, if you want to check them out, and i have just looked at Aimee, she was taken out of the game for balancing, issues, so i don’t see her making a return, mostly because vassil (or whatever his name is) has already replaced her, and her camera was a camera that she looked on to, which is mostly useless in this game, she would have to switch screens while looking, making her vulnerable, and Phantom is a great counter, when Taxi (i named him Taxi) is driving the car, his view is completely covered, any enemy can come upon him and kill him easy, phantom is gonna have the best time, because while Taxi Must stay close to the action or his car won’t be able to reach the enemies, Phantom, while hidden by the fighting, can easily spot a Taxi, and kill him, its very easy. I know phantom has been Nerfed, making him visible, but from what I’ve learned, is if phantom is walking or even standing still, he is harder to see, and almost impossible to see in a fight due to all the gun fire and explosives. And Vassil, the Sniper Merc, is almost the same, as Taxi, he Snipes, and runs back when the heat gets to much, then runs out, snipes and runs, and sometimes tags a area with his heartbeat sensor.

If Phantom ever gets a buff, then maybe? - As of now, countering this merc seems difficult: only explosives will be able to stop him or his car. Recall that if people struggle with shooting a proxy mine, a moving one would be far difficult.

never knew anyone struggled with a Proxy mine, i always found it as instinct to listen for them and then shoot them, sometimes even waiting for the Proxy to get close enough for me to blow her up.
