are those entities the right way to have music played all over the map from beginning to end?
i followed a tutorial i found in radiant’s help… editspeakers etc but i cant figure it out.
target_Speakers
if you want music played everywhere in your map, then it is better to use the way you heard, and its actually quite simple!
doesnt´ET look for the music file in the same directory as the map is ?
in the tutorail above the path is : sounds/world/…
does it always look for the file in etmain/pak0???
it isnt explained where i should put the music file if i do not want to “copy” that tutorial.
if i type only x.wav as value iof the noise key where does et expect that file?
the music file (my own 14mb wav) (<- don’T laugh!) is located in everey folder called sounds and i “copied” the tutorail and no sound occurres!
oO 14mb LOLZORS
hope you arent gonna release that, but put it in sound/isbowhten/mysound.wav
then direct the path to it
if he compresses extreme the pk3 its not that terrible…
and anyways nowadays we have better pcs and better nets than in 2003 relese of the game, i dont really care bout map sizes, why to stick with old standards…
i composed a short piece of music… well… i used “stereo mix” option of windows to record it (made in guitar pro) and it is 14 mb xD
in etmain/sounds/isbowhten/isbo.wav ? and the key value is sounds/isbowhten/isbo.wav ?
i tried etmain sounds world isbo.way and as a keyvalue sounds world isbo.wav and it didnt work…
i give it a try tomorrow… however, thanks
in pak0 u have “sound” and not soundS
and maybe also your wav isn’t right khz, try to search the forum, there was a thread about it somewhere
it’s got to be mono, I’ve gone through this problem many times
here’s a nice tutorial anyway http://www.wolfensteinx.com/surface/tutorials/sounds.html
i made it mono but 16050 khz … there was no other option… i don’T have time atm… so tomorrow i am going to use another program … (after i made it mono 16 bit instead of steroeo 16 bit and ^16050 instead of 440000 its size decreased rom 14 to 3.5 mb xD)
audacity is good for this stuff and its free
I got adobe soundbooth and audition though
