target_speaker

(morphdoc) #1

OK, I tried to research this for the past 3 hours.

I want the sound (sound/world/alarm_02) to go off when the radar is switched on, and when the radar is switched off, the sound disappear.

I tried everything. and I failed.

Similar thing is done on the map “transmitter” but I cannot work out how its done. In the script it says

“enablespeaker alarm”

But I cannot find any entity with the targetname alarm …

Probably the reason why you cant find entity is that “speakers” are not entities from GTK.

You have to do it in ET itself. So go /devmap [map], and next steps about editing speakers read here:

so how is that then saved in the map??

EDIT: got it. thanks

The speaker entities and co-ordinates are stored in a separate file ‘/sound/maps/<mapname>.sps’, this file is saved every time you use one of the commands.

So ET doestn have “save” button. After you end editing speakers, just quit ET as always.

There is also a tutorial on Sound on our TWT Website. Download section. But Seems WuTangH has covered the Problem Here already.
