I have the target_smoke working with a custom image. But you can see it behind walls and any where in the map. I dont have a shader for it, its just linked to a .tga.

How can I fix this?

Looks like there’s a light effect coming off the image you’re using, if that is the case then it may be a lightmapscale problem with light showing through walls which are too thin - just a guess but may be worth a try…(e.g. thicken the walls or reduce lightmapscale)
I didnt do a light compile. My walls are 32 units thick, do I need a shader for this to work as it should?
You need to use a shader not a tga directly.
Create a shader with the tga you want too use, then call the shader from the target_smoke.
