target_rumble not working

(Teuthis) #1

I have a winter map where some avalanges go down. apart from the Sound it would be nice to use a target_rumble to let the Players view shake a bit when the avalange goes down.

I have the following entities supposed to control this: a Trigger_once (see pic) shall activate my target_rumble (see pic). Problem is this doesn’t work. As I see no reason what is wrong I am asking myself whether this target_rumble really works? Anyone has ever used this? anyone has a Suggestion how to get it to work? I tried all sorts of key entries btw.

Good morning,

have you had a look at Vesuvius by Fireflyalready? He uses an ‘earthquake’ effect that might be what you are looking for.
I always loved it because it makes the map even more unique despite the already stunning map design. Anyway, I don’t know which enities he used, but his source files are released so you could have a look.

Hope it helped.
Cheers

Hi there, excellent hint. This is exactly what I needed. He used also a target_rumble there. Seems that the entity has to be activated via alertentity over the script. Works nice in my map now. Good avalanche feeling…

Thanks a lot my friend
