no, operative have special unlocks, which allows him, to call “tapirs drop”.
so they actually drop from skies[even indoor. crushing floors before landing] and start offending callers, offenders.
and sniff-sniff neighborhood, emitting artificial[for human ears], sounds.

how about the heavy class drops his sandwch ( just a wee fu too people who are compatring it to some valve game) causing a stampeed of tapiers which damage all players in the area sort of like the nuke in that other game

I would imagine the ark would have some kind of zoo to preserve all the creatures of the planet

As having never had SD game experience before, I’m with you - I’ve browsed around the site but still can’t work out the origin of the Tapirs???

You’re looking at it the wrong way. Tapirs were at the creation of Splash Damage, not the other way around.

It originated on IRC wayyyyy back when there was purely speculation about SD’s new game (it was ETQW but it hand’t been announced yet). When anyone came on IRC and asked, they were told it was a game based on My Little Pony with rainbow coloured ponies, then it got switched to rainbow coloured tapirs and it spiraled from there. I tried to stop it but it grew too fast :frowning:

I mean I can understand no females in the game but tapirs? That’s just taking gaming to a whole new level of awesomeness

As an animal, I’m all pro tapir, but surely in this setting any live specimens would have been eaten quite a while ago.
I can see a gene bank being kept, but even that would take resources to keep refrigerated.
Perhaps they have some sci/fi way of keeping it cool.

I would certainly be amused if there was a mission to protect a tank or shipment of Tapir “genetic material” that the resistance was planning on stealing for food…
