Tank-tics

[Warning Salt Ahead]

Tank-tics? get it as in Tank and tactics and…ok Bad joke aside have noticed that the “Tank” Merc players very rarely do their job of soaking damage for the team ,and instead just camp like a fat Rhinoceros with no skill and a OP gun of hell.

So i make this quick post to suggests y,all to try and meat-shield your teammates, for example when your allys are defusing the c4 on Underground they are most of the time very exposed, so place your 150hp+ ass in front of theirs a death aint as bad as a Defeat.

Personally I’m done tanking since dem low IQ dipshits don’t have any clue what’s happening.
“Hey guys I pushed them ba-… oh… you guys just wanna hide there?.. fuck it, Phantom time!”

@SereneFlight That is true, that and 50% of Phoenix players are Selfish Fucks

I often play as a meat sheild in pub lobbys standing infront of engs and going through hallways first but have latley been playing exc where being a meat sheild is only rewarding if u have a good healer… most times without a healer dedicated to keeping me (rhino) alive i am dead and finished by the time they get to me… also even with a sparks there is risk because a lot of the times if u are a meat sheild chances of u being reved and getting to cover is low… most times getting finished as the laser hits u to rev u… bugs me a lot when i die and get healed just to die while standing back up.

Having ~50% to ~65% more health than the standard merc hardly makes you tanky. Tankier, for sure, but if you try damage soaking without a Heal Station, you will die. Very fast. And accomplish nothing.

Phoenix is arguably a better meatshield than Rhino or Thunder are (against non-snipers) because he can self-heal reliably and heal the meatshieldee at the same time. He’s also a lot faster and more versatile, so he’s also more likely to reach somebody who needs meatshielding in the first place.

In my experience at least, the only time I’ve been in a position to meatshield a teammate effectively is while playing Phoenix, and I’ve played Rhino and Thunder a decent amount, so I think I’m safe in the assumption that what you want out of the tanky mercs is not what you’re going to get.

I love playing Phoenix/Saw alongside competent teammates… not talking about “get ace” competent, more like “don’t stand in napalm” competent. :disappointed:
