Tank Problems I think

Today i tryed to make a tank in my map which moves etc,

when running the to see if it works i got this error

" sv_setbruchmodel: NULL "

does this error have anything to do with the tank??

if so anyone knows how to fix it, if need be i will post all required info from map up.

Getting a tank to move is one of the most complex procedures of ET mapping, my suggestion is to focus on your basic mapping abilities, specifically making simple rooms. As you develop your abilities more, these issues will become common knowledge to you, and moving a tank won’t seem so overwhelming.

i’ve made basic room, ive made dyna obj, and ive pratically finished making my map but now i got to put in the objectives in which are very similar to goldrush, tank, truck, tank and truck barriers and gold crates. I want to make the tank first. can u help me. if need be i will post script and screenshots of map design

Practice making a tank move in a ‘box’ map. Why spend all the compile time on a full map until you learn how to move the tank? Trust me on that… Believe Java.Lang when he says that a moving vehicle is the most complex procedure in an ET map… It’s too hard to just ‘help’ some one with a vehicle. There are so many pieces/parts/entities. I suggest copying the tank from goldrush into a ‘box’ map and playing with each entity until you learn how they interact - then put it in your map. It took me a good ‘month’ to breakdown a truck and figure out how it all worked…and a tank is somewhat more complex…

ok now i recopied the tank from gold rush into a box map and now im getting this error " ‘trigger_objective_info’ has a missing target ‘tank_construct’ "

the script is exactly like of gold rush and also the model and the first few spln.

ok i got pass the trigger_object problem lol

i had a missing entity which in gold rush is placed away from the tank and didnt notice it and of course didnt copy it lol

now i got another problem lol

“VM_create on cgame failed” anyone got an idea what this means?

got the map loading now but i still got a few problems now when the game is in warmup mode the tank is ready built and moves when an allies is near the tank, but when the game loads the tank is destroyed like it should be with

i have got a prefab of goldrush, but i first have to find it on my pc
when i have found the .map file i’ll edit this post :bump:

yeah send it maybe it works lol

i got the tank working and moves but only in warmup when the game starts the tank starts damaged but without the smoke and its model is shown working. and the tank is not repairable

i hae send it by email to you, but thete are a LOT of models and lights so you have to delete them if you don’t want to use them

yeah thanks alot saved me alot of scripting but im still having my original problem that in warmup the tank is repaired but when the game starts the tank is damaged but allies cannot repair it, also tried repairing with axis but still doesnt work tank barriers and truck barriers work the only problem is that allies cannot repair the tank.

im lost. anyone has idea if need be i will post info i just want to get this tank repaired and moving

edit the models are correct now even the smoke works also the tank shows on the command map

On a problem you had before, if you get “VM_Create on cgame failed” that means you ran out of memory :slight_smile:

the map loads now but allies cant repair the tank hence steal it to complete the objectives

the tank is not repairable.
