Hi Guys,

I’ve recently been working on a map that I’ve named Dockyard. It’s all packaged into a pk3 file and ready for feedback regarding bugs, glitches, whatever. Thanks to the people on the forums for help where it was needed. Whether I posted or not I found the questions were always answered somewhere. the search function is useful! Here’s a few screenies…

There is one problem, I don’t know a suitable place to upload the .pk3 file for downloads so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

erm i don’t mean to sound rude, but judging from your screens, this does not look like

ready for feedback regarding bugs, glitches, whatever.

far from it in my opinion.

Ow. my pride.

well the screenies were from a meta compile from the alpha, just havent got any new ones hosted yet. either way ready or not, it would help to know where I can upload it.

edit: instead of slating, it would help if you oculd be more constructive in your comments.

For a start:

  • the screenshots are quite dark. Brightening up could help.
  • thought about adding lights?
  • this map might be classified as “first playable”, unless you would think the map is finished as it is…

Thank you for the comments. First playable sounds like a more appropriate naming!

The screenies were from a meta compile so didn’t include the lighting afaik. I’ll do a new compile and get some better screenshots up so you can see what it’s like. Thanks again.

Ok, I’ve recompiled and taken some screens. I’ve brightened them up so hopefully this first playable looks a little better. If they look grainy it’s due to my system rather than the map :wink:

There are no screenies as yet of the final objective as I think it needs more work than the rest of the map does.

what about some info about the objectives ? maybe decorate the walls with some windows etc.

Still a newbie mapper I’d say :slight_smile:

Objectives of the map for allies:

Advance along the railway tracks to capture the forward spawn,
Move through factory and dockyard, then detroy the main and side entrances,
Destroy the depot defences and fuel tanks
Secondary objective of command post.

I’ll get some windows in there around the station area. Think they may brighten up the fuel tank area too, thanks for the hint.
