Tag problem (for head animation)

hallo all
I wanted to change something on the default head.md3 and made my own animations in 3dsMax 5 , but the tag_mouth I have in it doesn’t move in Compiler (and game) so the helmet stay in the same position :o

I seted on the tag physikue modifier and attached it to the head-bone (cause I used biped for animation, but animated only head), I also seted all scales of tag to 0.
The hole animation works in game, the only problem is the TAG.
Could someone maybe help me to understand why game (and compiler) doesn’t see the movements of tag.

Ok I got it to work, if someone interested how it works:
I just linked the tag to the head in max, cause pivot need also to be moved, cause ET only notices the moves of pivot of the tag.

Now I have another problem:
If I copy all my changed files (head-model, skin, charakter, anim-file, shader) in to the pak0.pk3, than it all works in game; but if I try to make my own pk3 - it doesn’t work :frowning:

So maybe someone knows, wat files should I get in to the separeted pk3, so it all works, or should I change something else?

Never ever, and I say NEVER edit pak0.pk3. For the problem itself, I’ve got no idea since I haven’t got time to chew any modelling tutorials… (Too lazy…)

umm
is that vorbiden or wat :oops:
cause the changes I make in it are only for my private use, I’m not going to post this changed pak0 anywhere…

Actually you are not able to play on public servers with a changed pak0.pk3.

Not sure why it don’t work in an extra pk3 file.

Try to give the new pk3 (with the files you need only) name like zzz_mymod etc… Aslong as it is after pak0 in alphaphetical order. If you want to use it in private, you need to play alone or find a server with sv_pure 0.

yes I know that I can’t use it as the normal pak0 on servers, thats why I ask also how do I make it to the normal pk3… And I also named it z-… , but it doesn’t help :frowning:
ummm and I hope that I get it to work as a mod, cause I’m preparing it for someone other, for his mod.
Thats why I need to understand which files do I need in pk3 that it works with custom animation.

make sure u have the same folder structure in ur pk3 as it is in pak0.

I got it now, I packed the pk3 in rar, and must be zip :smiley:
