Hello again mapping types

Can someone please tell me the tag name for this model:
‘etmain\models\mapobjects\book’

I can’t see it anywhere in the md3 file opened in text and I don’t have a model prog installed at present to look at it

Thanks v much

that model does not have a tag. not all models have or require tags.

oh b***er

thanks max…
so…what is the tag name for this: models\mapobjects\props_sd\fuel_can.md3??

OMG - I’ve just realised the tags are the names of .TAG files - and lo and behold the fuel can doesnt have 1 either

possibly!!
:lookaround:

why would you need the tags for those models anyway…you planing on attaching something to the book or the fuel can?

I have - am attempting - to make my own mover which doesnt use a model - but I need a tag for entities! was thinking I could incorporate a model with a tag. possibly!!?? :lookaround:
Plz excuse ignorance - help appreciated

you can make a mover that uses a model2 key/value for the model you want to move. a model does not need a tag to do this, as the model will join the mover at the models origin, and of course your mover needs an origin brush. when you load a model in radiant, you can see where it’s origin is at, represented by a clear box with axis lines through it, usually at the bottom of most models, but not always.

now… for what you want to do, you could use erik-ftn’s 27_tag_beta model, it’s just a non visible model with 27 tags of course so you can attach stuff to it.

i can’t remember where to get it though… do a search for it in these forums

you could use erik-ftn’s 27_tag_beta model

excellent - this sounds like just the thing

thanks Max - Ill look for it
