Tacky Tactics

A new thread! “Giving all my secrets away…”

Here is a fun little seesaw technique for stumpy’s, although it works for any knockback weapon.

Put your two stumpy equipped toons with two squares between them, one of which is your victim. Use the knockback to see saw the toon back and forth from the two shooters. This maximizes your energy points by not requiring you to chase the knockback.

For example:

Here’s another technique for when you DON’T want knockback. Align your attack so that the enemy literally has his back to the wall. You will be able to hammer away (especially if you have the salad jammer:)

For your advanced operations (and when there are no handy walls) you can move one of your own toons to block the knockback square. Drones and shield bot and deploy cover, boxes, all can be used to prevent knockback.

Finally, use his own toons against him, as the anvil to your hammer. If your really good you can knockback one toon to block another’s retreat.

Mostly you’d want to master these techniques if you use a lot of melee weapons or shotguns, I guess maybe hsr. Knockback can frequently be a pain with theses weapons, burning energy points to advance after every strike to stay in range. There is a reason beyond damage that the chainsawesome is so awesome, 98 points of damage and NO knockback means the right toon in the right place at the right time can kill even a full health 300 point heavy.

So knock back a cold one your next match and ask, do I really want to knock knock, or should I just come in:)

The Double Squirt

Now that the number of Gus squirts has been nerfed to three, it behooves the wise commander to maximize each one. Gone (thank god, or splash damage I should say) are the excessive water blasts, which turned London into a water theme park.

Here is a nice example of how to get two for one on your squirts (no dirty jokes, please).

I have yet to see an example of triple squirt that actually was tactically useful, but I’m sure it’s possible—post those screenshots!

Keep your powder dry and your squirter wet:)

A third toon on the square you used Gush-ed on will get you a three-in-one. However at some angles it wouldn’t work. Usually if its a direct straight line or one square deviation it would work.

Good point, coup! Also, you’d take damage ( there is another thread on that). I will have to incorporate that in my team chump play:)
