Synchro

Synchro/Ditto
Class - General Support (you will see)
HP - 110
Speed - 410

Profile
Former military scientist who ran a side business in identity theft.
real name Jeff ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This character is supposed to be a general wildcard. He is considered support because his first ability gives him access to pretty much every existing ability (sounds OP, i know. just read the next paragraph)

Ability 1 - Synchro
Cooldown - 80 sec
Duration - 45 sec
Changes the appearance and abilities of Ditto/Synchro to those of a random different merc who is not in your squad.
Here’s the catch: weapons, augments, health and speed stay the same while you gain weaker versions of others abilities. So for example if you take the form of Rhino you get a minigun that has a smaller amount of dps than Rhinos actual minigun.
Here its summed up:
Medical abilities heal less and slower. Ammo is also provided at a slower rate. All the airstrike abilities (Kira, Arty, Skyman) + explosive abilities (Nader, Fletcher, Frogger, Thunder kinda) + reckon stuff (Vasilli, Aimee, Redneck, Phantom kinda idk) + Stoker and Proxy have smaller areas of effect and slightly less dmg. Ditto_Bushwacker gets a cute little side turret like the engineer in tf2 (no main turret tho).
Hope i didn’t forget anyone.
Finally i would like to exclude a few abilities from the list like phoenix’s self revive.
Also while using the ability synchro it is not possible to use Ditto’s native second ability blackhat.

Ability 2 - Blackhat
Cooldown 12 sec
Hack and utilize enemies deployables. Big stuff (health and ammo station, turret) takes two hacks (to prevent speed hacking in tight spots.
Small stuff like mines and stickies only one.
For the design i thought of a kind of taser gun (stupid i know) that shoots some wires to the deployable and takes around 1 sec to hack it. Does not work on C4.

Weapons

Primary

Blishlok
Kek 10
Crotzni

Secondary

Selbstadt .40
Simeon .357
Caulden

Melee
Cricket Bat
Beckhill Combat knife
Stilnotto Stiletto

Price

Definitly not 30k. This should not be played at a low level.
So 50k credits (or more)!

Additional Notes:

-I’m undecided with his name (Synchro/Ditto/?), nationality and even gender. But thats not so important anyway.
-Ability #2 is called blackhat because of the blackhat in Black Ops 2. This can be changed ofc.
-As for weapons and health/speed i copied almost everything from phantom, because he is also this kind of side-/useless character (still awesome though, don’t get me wrong).

Feedback is desired because i think this still needs a lot of balancing.

Congratulations you made it to the end!

Doesn’t need any balancing.
You know why?
Because its not gonna happen.
All mercs are good for certain things.
E.G Rhino (CQB), Vasseli(far range).
But this guy, nope, he is good in any situation your in.
Side note: All future mercs are 50k, not more, not less. Only the first mercs introduced into the game are 30k.

Idk why i feel this but for some reason i think it would be more useful to combine Phantom with this and have the Emp and ability 1removed from it leaving basic refractive armor with a controllable, yet limited hacking ability.

An example is that if he goes from hacking a turret to a heartbeat sensor the turret will be destroyed/returned to merc stolen from

Amount of time it takes to hack can work like how you said:
3 seconds to hack turrets.
1 to hack stickies.
4-5 to hack health stations.
1.5-2 to hack mines.
3.5 for ammo stations (though it would be pointless since you can already take ammo from enemy’s stations)
3.5-4 seconds for heartbeat sensor and SNITCH (longer if debilitated by SNITCH.)
Note: Times can change if seen as too fast or slow.

Cooldown: 15-20 seconds?

(This would also be a seperate ability from refracive armor)
(Not sure if Phantom would be forced to uncloak to use)

And this is where i got my idea from out of it all

Useful? Not useful? Tell me and give Sorbert credit because his/her merc idea gave me this.(only good credit, not the bad)

bruh, none of the merc suggestions will ever make it into the final game I guarantee it.
Thought i might throw a few fresh ideas in this sub forum though.
No need to be rude.

yet less effective, and you get random abilities, 'member?

your move Bushwanker (/¯–‿・)/¯

Then it would be easier to just destroy the turret with your gun dont you think? Would be good for the enemy if its returned.

alright. enough with this discussion. its over. go home everyone.

Tbh i just couldnt decide between returning or destroying. (Not that it matter because it probaly won’t be in game)

The only part of this that I think could even be remotely good is if you got the ability of the last person you killed for [30] seconds. Otherwise it just sound like a lazy person’s way of getting every merc into a squad.

This character ability of ‘mimic’ has been brought up in the past, though in high-skill teams, this is a wild card and unreliable. It also allows a single character to perform multiple other class roles, which seems a bit unfair. If Sawbonez could give ammo at the cost of halving his healing overall, he’d still be one of the stronger medics. The unique ability of hacking seems like a poor idea. Stealing an enemy’s health station could be very powerful, but stealing an explosive mine in a public game could just outright win that stage of the map if they’re unable to escape in time or deal with it.

The character is not terrible, but holds many dangers in terms of balance.
