switching weapons bug after summer squash update

dear devs of dirty bomb!
first of all you are awesome in creating a great fps game! but ever since your update in september my weapons switching is broken. I use my mouse button 4 (which is on the side of my mouse) to toggle between my primary and secondary, but every time i press the button to switch to my secondary from my primary it toggles to my secondary for a split second and switches back to my primary. (quite annoying and the cause of many deaths) Than after a while mid game the bug ceases but at every new game at game start it happens.
please fix this dirty bug if possible! thank you!
