switching to melee cancels toggle sprint

old people like me use toggle sprint. otherwise fingers would break by holding to long shift. when i am out of ammo and switch to melee, these youngsters shoot me while i chase them kneecapped. please disable the activate sprint when switched to melee weapon if toggle sprint is activated. you do knot want dem old people to break their fingerz.

It would be nice if toggle sprint was built in to the game a little bit.

If you are running a short period of time, the game turns on toggle sprint. Anything you do after that can cancel it.

Rust does this pretty seamlessly. In fact, I didn’t realize it was a feature and I kept holding down the shift key normally to sprint.

If DB does it correctly, you won’t even notice a difference in playstyle if you always hold down shift to sprint. But now, you should be able to let go after X seconds. It could work very well since a lot of running happens… especially from spawns where I’d use it the most.
