i just noticed that now when some one switches to a different merc, it show up and tells you about it in chat. Why is this? seems like a total waste of resources and who cares? the only one who would care is the one who switched and it would be pretty obvious to them…
just more spam to pop up in a game. now if there is a reason i am just not seeing please enlighten me. but i really cant see why this info is in any way important enough to anybody to justify cluttering up the display.

Is good if we won’t see +5 snipers in team anymore .
That i mean is if I use already an engi and my other team mate has it aswell then someone changes to engi(and we are 3 engi in team), i will change to some other useful merc . Because 3 engi are useless like 3 snipers as attackers who just hide and wait for an enemy.
Well for noobs this is useless and for good(normal) players who can read their team/enemies is useless as well. I don’t really know why they add this thing

i rarely look at what the chat says, but if i need to know a quick “tab” tells me who is what.

They could at least show it in a different font or colour. I get excited thinking someone said something important in the comments, but no, our useless vassili only turned into a useless red eye.

Add an option to disable it, or remove it altogether. Anyone who knows the game well enough to make use of this information should know what their team is doing anyways.

If i want to check what mercs my team is playing, i check scoreboard or spawntimer on top of screen.
This “switched to” spam in chat is garbage. Also the information if some1 used voice chat. And oh dear it doesnt work anyways. Shows enemies switching class and requesting medic as well.

Meh, the V-Say lines aren’t that bad, they save new players the hassle of having to blankly stare at the chat selection for a few seconds in the middle of a match just to cough back at someone.
They should condense it though. “V-Say 7-9-1” is a lot longer than it needs to be, when you could just say “v791”.

I’m hoping that being able to see enemy switches is a bug and not a feature.
Adding the V-say seems kind of pointless but i can see that its so new players can use it easier like @STARRYSOCK said.

if they really want to implement that, they can also do that via the top bar where you see who is alive and what merc it is playing. for example something like: pic of present merc, arrow, pic of next merc. or if you want to save space, you can put both in the same box and make the present merc big and the next small.

Same here. Seems completely retarded to me that we can see what the enemy switching to lol. Especially if it’s a strategic change, where the person was hoping to surprise the enemy team with a sneaky merc change.

Furthermore, we’re not normally able to know which mercs is played by ennemy players prior to meeting them onto the battlefield.

trying to make strategic plays by changing merc, should not be advertised. Maybe turning it off as the user would work, but not as the viewer. or…just get rid of it altogether, never had it before and nobody was crying wishing it was a feature…

I think it’s a bug, I hope they remove it. I don’t like the numbers next to my abilities either, seems primitive.

Shoe already confirmed its a bug in the latest video…I still think this feature makes more sense for ranked and not for pub play. It just spams the screen for no reason.I could care less what my potato friendlies switch to.

Agreed. Maybe even a “switching to” icon on their hud every time the person selects a merc.
