SweetFX

To those who don’t know what SweetFX is, it’s a configurable shader pack that can by implemented into most games. It’s compatible with Dirty Bomb and the preset I use makes the game truly beautiful with vibrant colors and better contrast and fits well with the artstyle of the game. Here are comparison screenshots:

But there is one thing that buggers me: When I’m using SweetFX there’s a chance I’ll get kicked by NGS for “security violation”. Has any of you experienced the same kind of thing ? Or is it just my bad luck ?

@MissMurder Can you ask people who are in charge of NGS if the SweetFX is seen as “cheat” by it ?

(SteelMailbox) #2

As far as I know, no.
They do not ban people for changing config stuff to make the game more beautiful/ugly

(1AGRESSOR) #3

is some games if meddle in dx file you get banned by phunk buster that is basically what fx does and in some cases could make near field and esp

(Mister__Wiggles) #4

@1AGRESSOR
‘Phunk Buster’ xD

(Mr-Penguin) #5

The security violation thing is just a problem with NGS crashing.

Your game looks quite… green.

I’ve used this for other games but I definitely wouldn’t ever use it for a multiplayer game. The chances of it getting picked up and banned by an AC client are way too high. And with the way it works the chances of that are just too high so I would definitely not risk it.

Yeah, it has this Fallout 3 post-nuclear green haze feel but it’s mainly because it enchances base shader colors (so f.ex. on Chapel it’s more like Eiffel 65- I’m Blue :stuck_out_tongue: )

(XavienX) #8

Can you change the settings for the brightness and contrast for that thing by any chance cause it looks pretty green to me.
And as the other people said, it’s risky since the AC might think it’s a hack program.

(MilkyBear) #9

Actually i like the game preset better. Sweetfx looks green.

(cornJester) #10

SweetFX is basically an injector. NOPE. It’s harmless but lots of anti cheats will pick it up as a possible threat since it essentially works the same way some hacks do. Do not recommend risking it.

Ever heard of word “configurable” ? Of course you can change almost everything !

@sympatheticMotorcycle It’s mainly because Terminal has this green hue, Trainyard for example is reddish, Chapel is bluish etc.

GOD THIS LOOKS B E A UTIFUL !

I wana use it…but i dunno much abotu NGS… :< !

(Ghosthree3) #13

That is some ugly ass shit.

(Mister__Wiggles) #14

The contrast looks off tbh, I personally won’t risk the ban for running something that makes the game look a bit worse imo.

(Telzen) #15

How the hell do you see enemies when your game is like that? I prefer the much cleaner default look myself.

(Ghosthree3) #16

Should lock the game to 24fps for the full ‘cinema’ experience too.

(Rjsto) #17

I’m with @Telzen on this one, it looks like seeing enemies with the contrast it has would be a bitch

(HonourBound) #18

yeah, those shaders completely ruined the look… It just looks like someone messed with colour temperatures and white balance

(Faraleth) #19

@Ghosthree3 But you forgot about the letter-boxing too! Oh, and the 60 FOV - again, for the “cinematic” experience. That’s how you PROPERLY play video games, hurhur… cough cough

(Potato_Ladder) #20

Want to add War Movie Post Processing Preset to that?
