SV_setbrushmodel: Null Madness

(Red*Uk) #1

Ok i got a problem with my maps
I know the Error of this topic is usally about misplaced or losed origins, but my maps dont have this, i’ll give ya a little background.
My HD crashed and burned, luckily i backuped my maps all except one,
So on reinstalling my os i choose radiant 1.4 straight away i got the annoying enity leak bug which 1.4 seems to throw out, even though the error is not supposed to be all that bad i went beck to Et Radiant, but now when i try to compile my map i get this error : SV Brushmodel Null.
I also tried recompiling some of my finshed maps 5 in all! and they all give this error!! Previously before reinstalling all my maps compilied fine now not one will compile without the SV error
I also tried i simple box map and still getting the same error, also reinstalled radiant twice and checked all my paths
This has got me losted and angry, i only have like 3-4days left to finish my final map then i dont have time left to do so and will probably scrap it:(

Any help is welcome.

Hi!
I was working on a map for ET, and all was well. Then I imported some prefabs, mixed a little with some trigger zones and compiled. When I tried to start the map in ET I got sv_setbrushmodel null-error. Eh? I tried to save the map but I just could recover it. Thankfully I had a backup (only 1 week old).
I am sure I had no loose origin brushes.
Sorry, that’s all I know about that error-type. Not much I guess. Good luck!

SV_SetBrushModel: NULL
There is an error with one or more of the brush entities in you’re map.
Example: You may have the “function_rotating” entity with only the “origin” brush (look for something like this in you’re junk.txt file - Entity 0, Brush 1: origin brushes not allowed in world), or you may have placed the “area portal” texture on a door entity (this may produce an error like - Entity 2, Brush 0: areaportals only allowed in world) etc.

Make sure you have both the origin brush and the brush that you are rotating selected before you give it a function_rotating. The same goes for any other entity that requires the origin brush. Also, check that there are no textures on any of the entities that shouldn’t be there.
