Sustaining 'fun'

(Anti) #221

The quantity of work we have to do with the people we have certainly impacts the time these things take, yes.

(Ruben0s) #222

Just out of curiosity. How many people work on DB?

(Kl3ppy) #223

Over 9000!!!

(tokamak) #224

How many SD employees does it take to change a light-bulb?

One. The rest is only there to make a milestone movie about it.

(Ashog) #225

Meanies!!!

(Protekt1) #226

You mean just one… with the work POWER LEVEL OF OVER 9000!!

(Hundopercent) #227

If you need an all star elbow rager on your team to get things movin let me know. Wife is on board with a move to London.

(Nail) #228

someone, somewhere needs to harness that confidence, good on you lad

(rand0m) #229

Here’s how to sustain fun:

FIX THE DROP TO 30 FPS OR FIGURE OUT WHY IT’S HAPPENING!

(woll3) #230

My FPS have been stable and i also have this lag that feels like a 2000ping, to me it felt more like a server issue.

(tokamak) #231

For me dropping to 30fps would be an improvement.

(rand0m) #232

My fps drop from 125 to 20-30 randomly for 30 seconds then go back to normal. Happens on every single map. It’s not my pc so don’t even go there this is the only game it happens…

(Kl3ppy) #233

Yeah, server (VIP Map Server) lags pretty bad. Got stuck in the endless ammo delivery animation, Got shot thru the door and 5 secs later the explosion showed up and I realized, the door was already blown but not on my side of the connection

(Nail) #234

doesn’t happen to me, nor do I see others complaining, that would only leave your computer whether it happens in other games or not, try with a default config

(rand0m) #235

Well then I dunno. I have no problems anywhere else. Default cfg does it as well. There’s something in the game dropping me from 125 fps to 30 for 10-30 seconds and then it restores back to normal. I play games with alot higher need in sys requirements and newer engines and have no problems.

(Seanza) #236

Are you playing with DX11?

(rand0m) #237

No I am not

(Nail) #238

normally that would indicate your computer polling for updates, 30 seconds is a long time though

(rand0m) #239

Every 5-10 minutes my pc is polling for updates?
Furthermore if its affecting dirty bomb only that my windows is polling for updates I should be getting similar results in other games as well not ONLY dirty bomb.

The issues you describe sound similar to map issues from Source games. Was usually from poorly optimized maps. Once the maps were optimized, frame rate went up drastically. You could usually tell if that was the case by standing in one spot, turning 360 degrees, and watching your FPS. If your frame rates always drop when turned a certain direction, it was the map itself that was poorly optimized.
