[SURVEY] CW Elite and Elite Cases

(p4v) #1

I’m not a Faral3th v2.0  I just want to find out what people generally think about the Elite cases in both normal and special editions. What they liked and disliked about them.

Link to the survey: http://goo.gl/forms/I4OsXN3WfM

Just like in Faral3th’s surveys, you will have to log into a Google account in order to complete it.

You can change your responses at any time until I close the survey when it becomes rarely used.

I will send the results to Shoe Senpai.

Edit: Added a third option to the third question.

Submitted.

But I didn’t want any of the CW cards, simply because its cosmetic wasn’t my personal preference.

I have spawned a minion! :3

Submitted my response - nice survey. There were some questions like this in my mini-survey not too long ago which was in regards to CW loadouts and trading: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/19949/mini-survey-dirty-bomb-containment-war-trading-and-economy/p1

It will be interesting to see if the results match up. Also, you should make the results public! :stuck_out_tongue: They are nice to see! ^.^

I’m closing down the survey on Friday 19:00 GMT along with posting the results.

@p4v
The third last and second last questions lack any reply for those who didn’t or don’t intend to buy any elite cases.

Yeah, I can’t answer this because multiple questions don’t have suitable answers. Elite prices are whoppingly overpriced for what they give you. I’d pay the current price if they gave you a random skin/weapon skin for a merc of your choice. That retains some RNG and keeps multiple purchases a thing, especially since people will likely want skins on multiple mercs. Right now, the skins available aren’t that impressive and there’s too much RNG for cases to be appealing, since you have to fight loadout RNG and then skin RNG. On top of that, the fact they’re super expensive (with the usual $ to £ exchange rate getting botched along the way) doesn’t help.

Haven’t bought any, won’t buy any - until something changes. And as per usual, my regular comment: I’ve got money I’m willing to spend on you, Dirty Bomb, just gimme stuff to buy that isn’t ass.

I don’t think that’s an option they even consider to do. They want to introduce trading between players at some point. If they made a feature which allows us to choose a merc we roll for, that would greatly hit trading.

Sadly the only real thing we can fight for is to decrease prices/increase chances.

I’m not surprised that the majority didn’t buy any Elite cases before the CW event. That’s what I expected. Their price, 80% chance for silver and randomness is enough drive people away.

As we can see the CW cases changed that a bit. People that have never bought any case dropped from 66% to 49%.

Obviously, there are more potential customers out there who would pay and support DB. They simply expect a better value for what they pay for.

If the cases were even more altered in favor of customers like lower silver drop or A, B, C versions that would narrow down unwanted mercs and I’m certain that the number of people making a purchase would increase further.

People are evenly divided on 10% special drop. Some were okay with it, some not. However, half of respondents decided to buy cases only after discounts.

There is only 1 guy who declared to buy Elite cases regularly. Forever alone.

The difficult thing is that you’ll never get the full scope of this. Nexon will be all over the analytics of case purchases before/during/after events, whether people have bought them before, etc. Surveys are little interesting sources of amusement, but very rarely give the full picture. So many people don’t even visit the forums or reddit etc.

As for changes to the way they offer skins: There’s nothing stopping them adding extra layers to the current system, such as allowing for equippable weapon skin slots. The current system is quaint, but just doesn’t quite work imo - with some effort, stripping back some of the RNG, and making it appealing for players to buy stuff, it could be better. As I’ve said most times I say this, though: whether any of this happens all comes down to how much they’re making off of it as it is and whether that’s falling short of their projections.

Until then I’ll just sit on my hopes and dreams for worthwhile skins to buy - the only skins I’ve gotten excited about so far have been sponsored freebies like logitech.

I personally don’t like buying the cases just because of their price.

I live in New Zealand. 10 elite cases for me is $42  Our dollar sucks, and so do those prices.

I did buy 10 cases when they were on special last weekend (I had $5 on my steam account already so the 10 of them only ended up costing me $24 with the 30% off discount) and I got 2 special edition + 8 silvers. No gold or cobalt.

Wasn’t really worth the purchase, but I tried my luck because they were cheap, and even then it took me 2 days to talk myself into spending only $24 for 10 cases. No way in hell am I ever going to spend $42 for a lucky dip though, that’s a bit ridiculous.

But that said, as much as I told myself a month ago I would never spend money on cosmetic game items, I would actually spend real money to buy gold/cobalt cases if they were in the store and could be specifically picked out like the bronze ones. I know they’re only skins, but they look bad ass.

They’re stupidly expensive wherever you are. £27.99 for 10 cases in the UK - I can’t even fathom that being worthwhile. I wouldn’t pay £27.99 for 10 cobalts let alone the more likely 10 silvers. I have no energy left to argue why it’s ridiculous anymore, though. I’d just like to imagine one day it’ll get better.
