[SURVEY] Containment War: Meltdown + Thunder!

The Containment War: Meltdown event is over, and Thunder has received a few crucial fixes and tweaks. Voice your opinion on how the massive event went for you, as well as the new merc changes, right here!

This survey should take no longer than 5-10 minutes maximum to complete!

Sadly you will have to log into a Google account in order to complete this survey, although I figured it wouldn’t be too much of a problem, because I imagine a lot of people have an account already. This is done to help prevent people completing the survey multiple times and throwing the data off. - There is no point looking at inaccurate data!

Like all previous community surveys, the results will be forwarded to both Nexon and Splash Damage - so we can have our voices heard! This survey will be posted on both the official forums and the subreddit, but feel free to send it to your friends to complete if they play Dirty Bomb, after all, the more the merrier!

I hope you all find this to be helpful in getting our opinions directly to the developers!

I liked the idea but disliked the rate. What should I choose? 0? 10? Average of the two: 5? :slight_smile:

@MarsRover that question is directed as a more “overall” feel of the event. If you liked the idea, but disliked the drop-rate, you might want to try and average it out. Don’t let me tell you how to answer though, you just pick what feels best represents your opinion! ^.^

Thunder was far better before the removal of the turn speed limiter. Concussing people now without blinding them feels rather pointless, they move slower but you are slow too and have a much bigger hitbox. They can still shoot you just fine.

It’s not a guaranteed kill like Fragger’s nades are, they should really restrict you when you get hit!

Should Containment War Event cases (100% guaranteed CW loadout) have been sold separately?

Where’s the “Why wasn’t this done in the first place?” option? … oh well… doesn’t matter, feedback doesn’t seem to matter anyways… unless it’s half of the internet whining about balance… or competitive players whining about balance…

The first two are really hard to answer, because a numeric rating adds zero depth to the answer.

What did you think of the 3 expert cases being given away? Rate 1-10

…I mean, I love freebies! So 10! …but expert cases? I don’t need any more bronzes. So 1. But they’re free, and that’s awesome to do giveaways like that, and in this manner! So 10! Grateful regardless, but expert cases are a weird thing sat next to elite cases.

The fact that they dropped? 10. No, 11. The fact that they dropped so rarely, and with all the ruthless RNG as usual? 1.

So, yeah. I’ve voiced at great length my opinion on the event in general, including the weekend part: it was a great. Loved it. The execution was off in some ways, however. Don’t want to shoehorn any more than that into this thread since it encourages the mob and their RNG pitchforks.

PS: As always, I answered the survey anyway, I just had to add my little caveat to explain. Thanks for gathering up our feedback Botaleth, you’re a trooper.

That is what they have to do, why will anyone want to concuss someone, and then waste bullets to kill them, when you can use an ability with the same cooldown to insta kill, and the EMP effect is not something to make a merc with

Many of the questions were awkward to answer, as @Backuplight has already said.

I’m also surprised that 49% of people do not mind if they lose the ability to fight back when they get concussed. It’s basically a slower and less efficient frag nade, you have to go in and do the killing, the conc nade just sets you up. Fragger could use some raw stat nerfs, and Thunders ability is much more team based.

I don’t get why people are for the Concussion grenade decreasing your turn speed. Can anyone explain to me why this would be a good thing for him? I think the nerf was a bit much, because the only problem I had with Thunder was the decrease in turn speed when hit with his grenade. The flash should be enough (although I do agree with the sentiment that the HUD should be removed as well), the turn speed thing just bothers me, you don’t lose control over your character with any other ability, so it feels weird and out of place (to me) when any thing else wouldn’t do that.

Honestly I’d just like someone to tell me why the concussion grenade affecting turn speed is a good thing?

I’ll give you a couple of reasons in fact! Before that however saying you don’t lose control with any other ability is not a valid argument, many abilities are unique, if you want to remove some of the unique qualities of it because nothing else gets it then you are doing the ability a disservice, when talking about any ability.

First reason! The concussion grenade in it’s current form barely slows down enemies, if at all. Before when they couldn’t turn they were still at a disadvantage but as it stands they can move and shoot you just fine even if it lands directly behind them. This could be remedied by making players slow as shit when concussed and or always blinding them fully if you get the concussion effect. Also to add on to that when blinded and or concussed they can still navigate and get where they wanted to go, where as before it forced them to run straight ahead. This could disrupt enemy movement while it no longer can.

Second reason! It’s now nearly impossible to tell who is concussed in it’s current form. Before people would run in a straight line so I would know if they were at a disadvantage so I could press my own before time ran out. However as it currently stands I have to guess. Not that it matters because if you refer to point one it barely affects them anyways.

im genuinely terrified people want their mouse sensitivity to be affected ingame.

turn-speed limit is extremely unfun, id rather they remove flash from the game and give thunder 200hp than put that back in.

Thunder was vastly inferior to Fragger pre hotfix and is still vastly inferior post hotfix.

All I wanna say about Thunder is this

  1. What the hell are the conc nades supposed to do? Disorient players and disable deployables right? Ok, so then how about this. No more line of sight flashing, ok. Instead, Concussion nades will slow you down, and blind you, the closer you are to the nade when it goes off the longer these effects last. And make the damn disabling effect on deployables last longer, at least so I can disable the healing station, kill Aura, then destroy the station.

  2. Why was the damage on the MK46 nerfed to 11 from 12? :\

The problem with Thunder is that he is so inconsistent. One minute he is killing everybody on the enemy team, and the next, he is getting shredded in pieces.
