Surprised at the lack of 360 players

Just bought Brink for £4.99. Was unsure whether to buy it at full price, so £4.99 swung it for me.

Have to say for the limited amount ive played so far, I think its a really good game that with some TLC could be a great game.

I started off playing solo to get used to the controls before going online to the expected hordes of people playing it… so imagine my surprise when faced with a team of bots. where everyone go? Have I missed the boat?

I would have thought that with the cheap price people would be snapping this game up, but I guess it was just me?

Maybe Im making back selections in the options? Im choosing standard play, my level or above, any map. anyone got tips for best things to select?

Also, is it worth buying the new maps?

Or maybe no one playing :frowning:

I think this is one of those games that deserved so much better, ala bulletstorm, and with a reboot and some DLC to take advantage of people buying it at the lower price who knows. Im going to stick at it though.

Don’t know about the xbox360, but I guess that almost nobody is still playing the game. The game indeed deserved way better but splashdamage failed to deliver, with patches being released to late and lack of content and tons of other issues. From the reviews I have seen it seems that for most people the game was unplayable on the xbox360 due to lag/matchmaking.

The only touchable information about players we have are on the PC version of the game. The PC version has at this moment 31 players online (all over the world, 17 in Europe, 7 in Australia, 5 in North-America and 2 in South-America), at launch that used to be 17.000+ players. And you have to imagine that they can find eachother easier than console players because they have a serverlist instead of matchmaking.

I would have thought that with the cheap price people would be snapping this game up, but I guess it was just me?

Well, If I see a game in the stores that cost at launch $60 and 6 months later $5, I would assume that something is wrong with the game and not buy it.

The majority of consolers never could play with each other, even in the first week, because the matchmaking didn’t work. On PS3, only those who joined the makeshift chatroom lobbies got games with real people. I know that there was a 360 community for a while playing daily scrimmages…but I’m not sure if it is still around. I would try the Bethesda forums, since that is where most of them are.

Ha ha. You may have a point there, but Ive picked up a few gems in the past

31 players online. Damn, thats about as bad as it gets…

Cheers, will do

Over time the player base shrank to a point where xbox players could never get full games. The rest of us just moved on. Plus, the guns are inaccurate and that never got fixed on the consoles.

Still, every time I get stuck trying to jump over a railing in BF3, I miss Brink.

Everytime I see boring map design , I miss Brink.

31 players during that time. That’s as LOW* as it get’s. I’ve seen 4 fully loaded MP servers along with a few coop servers not even a week ago. It just depends on when people play.

I still play the game on the 360 over here in Canada all the time! I have 3 level 24’s, and a few level 20’s. Trying to get all 10 characters to max level. I love the game, but none of my friends play it anymore. I think that I could easily help Splash damage with some content if they accepted suggestions. I have plenty of level ideas and maps that i’ve drawn out, and some character sketches i’ve made. I think that another reason not a lot of people play it anymore is because of the textures always being off, and having to load every time you enter an area. I don’t really find the multiplayer all that laggy, but I do find that some guns are really overpowered, and some really cool ones are extremely underpowered…

I’m sure SD have a whole heap of ideas they’d like to implement, they don’t however have a whole heap of money or viable financial reason to implement them.

Bunch of my friends still play on 360. I’ve been on hiatus from games in general for a little bit, busy with work and life, but am hoping to get back on some brink soon. Fun times.
