@RazielWarmonic

(Nail) #3

chatted with someone who asked if I reset my internet connection, I can see this taking a while

(RazielWarmonic) #4

Do you have AVG by chance, @Nail ?

(Nail) #5

no and I’ve read everythi9ng mentioned about sign in error, I haven’t had any trouble since I started in 2013, first time ever any problem

(RazielWarmonic) #6

Hm, odd. Nothing I can investigate on my own unfortunately. Customer support would have to help you. :frowning:

(Nail) #7

btw, the idea to start game is safe mode won’t work, vid drivers don’t load

(FireWorks) #8

Youre not alone btw

Plenty in the help section and in this thread in post #3 theres links to even more ppl with it.

Do you have another machine you can sign in from? Even if it’s an old one? Or a trusted relative that could sign in for you from theirs (and change your auth credentials after)?

The reason why I mention this is it will eliminate something local to your PC that DB currently doesn’t like. So if you get the same error from another PC then you know it’s an account issue. If it works then it’s something on your PC that isn’t working with DB for some reason or another.

yeah finding out eh source of the problem will be a step in the right direction to solving it. :slight_smile:

(Nail) #11

we’ll see if unscheduled hotfix, fixes it

hate to have to rebuild an old confuser just to check stuff

Hello Player,

Thank you for contacting Nexon America Customer Support I apologize for the delay in response.

If you are still experiencing this issue we would like for you to try the following.

  1. Disable and firewall/anti virus that may be affecting the communication with the game and our servers. If you are not comfortable disabling the previously mentioned programs please see step 2.

@RazielWarmonic this is support ?

(The_N00Ba) #13

i think they are just going through the simple things first before moving on to more possibly complex solutions. They are covering the basics. :slight_smile:

(Nail) #14

that’s just the stupid part of the equation, I’ve given them much more info as well

(sneak) #15

I’ve already explained this on forums and in the support tickets.

https://www.sysadmins.lv/blog-en/the-case-of-sstp-vpn-with-public-certificate-and-error-0x80092013.aspx

For some reason nobody is acknowledging this issue, and it’s been this way since at least 2014. I tried a live chat yesterday regarding this issue since I was getting it again, and I was told to “be patient” and “wait for a ticket response” and that they “are still investigating the issue”. I asked how long they’ve been investigating this (since I’ve been getting it since November and others since 2014) and I could not get a single straight answer out of the GM answering the chat. He kept saying things like “I don’t have an exact date of when the problem will be resolved” and other methods of skirting the question.

There’s nothing you can do about this to actually fix the problem… that’s on their end. Last-night when this was happening to me I just kept trying every 5 or 10 minutes and it eventually worked, which is exactly what has happened in the past every time I’ve ever had this problem. Prior to this, Toomic was trying to assist me on Steam (thank you) but I think he was a bit busy (understandable). I don’t think they necessarily come on so they can assist players so since it isn’t an official channel of support I appreciate it.

I’ve already gone through several modifications to ESET and my computer settings including completely disabling things until I found out it was the error above. Everyone will automatically jump to the “mess with your firewall/antivirus” idea but it’s not actually solving the problem, unfortunately. We need someone at the company to acknowledge this issue and finally deal with it.

You know how when you get the “sign in could not be completed” error it has this link: dirtybomb.nexon.net/client/known-issues ? Well this is what that link USED to point to back in November when I first noticed the problem: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/1222/known-issues-work-arounds/p1

You can see here that nothing is mentioned about this specific error, but if you advance through the pages of the thread you’ll find that SEVERAL people have been experiencing this error and nothing was done about it. No replies were made and the thread was just locked.

One could argue that the “Authentication Errors” section relates to this, but the average player (and computer user in general) won’t be able to get anything regarding SSL worked out in their head when they see “sign in could not be completed”. Most users have no clue what SSL is or how any of this works. I’ve also seen another error that stated exactly that… “Authentication Error” leading me to believe this is something different.

@RazielWarmonic @stayfreshshoe @Toomic @Smooth

Being able to login is considered a basic, and this issue has existed since at least 2014.

(Nail) #16

my prob is I’ve been playing since 2013, last update no play, it’s a NGS thing

(sneak) #17

No, it isn’t. It’s an SSL thing. This is proven by the error code. Not to mention you have no way of knowing if or what was changed in NGS.

(Nail) #18

I get no error number, just sign in cant be done

(sneak) #19

As previously stated, it’s in the Windows Event Viewer.
