If the stats of the gun look fine on paper then clearly there’s something else wrong with it, likely the spread, and how well we can control it as players.
Summer Squash Part II - Upcoming Balance Changes
Good point. Either way it needs a buff, as Thunders actual killing potenetial despite his hp is actually sub par when using the MK46, and as I stated it does easily need more justification for the spread, or have the spread outright reduced. The thing with the 12 damage is though, is that the gun would be much, much more powerful at close range, and bodyshots will not be as bad due to the massive dps it will have, which is kinda the point of Thunder, and why you currently cannot cook the concs. Thunder is like the upfront and personal version of fragger that is more tanky, but given an ability that takes greater positioning than fraggers nade in order to make good use of the effects, and then have powerful weapon to be able to quicky dispatch of them. He already has the stark, but that has a small mag cap, thus making it poor at taking down a lot of concussed enemies at once ( max 2-3) but better in a 1v1 scenario with good aim. Really the stark does not suit Thunder, though people use it because the stark is great and will give them an advantage in all firefights. The timik is decent, but again due to spread and how quickly the spread increases it is, like the MK46, better at raking down concussed enemies, but still decent at taking out noramal enemies.
This sort of balance where weapons are for different purposes and perform better at one thing which the other makes the game have a bit more depth, but frankly the Mk46 is so much worse than the timik at taking down multiple enemies without ADS it is laughable. The Mk46 needs to be able to stand on its own feet, and buff to either its accuracy or damage would resolve the weakness of being extremely poor, but as it is not so reliant on conc, they would have to increase the CD of the conc, to make it less spammy, and to in rhe overall make the gameplay more enjoyable for everyone.
